Plastic scrap is usually either burnt as fuel, recycled into fiber fill, carpet backing and strapping, or chemically treated to recover component polyols and terephthalic acid.
In the case of PET scrap, when it is utilized in manufacturing, its strength drops, and strap splitting problem is seen. We have developed an additive masterbatch to overcome such problems and improve the following properties:
- Raises Intrinsic Viscosity (I.V.) of PET scrap material during extrusion.
- Increase Molecular weight and improve melt strength
- Improved hydrolytic stability
- Upgrading lower molecular weight poly condensate polymers
- Improve mechanical properties
- Prevent splitting
