POLYSTEP® A-16

1 of 52 products in this brand
POLYSTEP® A-16 is an anionic surfactant employed in latex manufacture, compatible with vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, and styrene-butadiene. In combination with nonionic surfactants like polystep® f-6, it complements styrene-butadiene. In acrylic latexes, it pairs with higher nonionic surfactants such as polystep® f-9. It finds relevance in vinyl acetate latexes, especially those rich in protective colloid, contributing to the formation and stabilization of latex emulsions.

Applications

POLYSTEP A-16 is used in the manufacture of latex. It is useful with vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride and styrene butadiene. POLYSTEP A-16 works well with styrene butadiene, especially when combined with a nonionic such as POLYSTEP F-6. POLYSTEP A-16 can be used in acrylic latexes when combined with higher nonionics such as POLYSTEP F-9. POLYSTEP A-16 can also be used in vinyl acetate latexes, especially those made with high levels of protective colloid.
