"The STOCKMEIER Group was founded as a chemical distributor in Bielefeld, Germany in 1920 by August Stockmeier. After his passing, his son, Dr. Jürgen Stockmeier, took over the company later passing the business to his son, Peter Stockmeier. Throughout the company’s years, the group diversified from a strict chemical distributor to also being a manufacturer of urethanes, food aromas and flavorings, coloring products for the paper and textile industry, and solutions for AdBlue® additives. In 1990, Jürgen Stockmeier and Edwin Martinkat began a venture to form STOCKMEIER Urethanes Group, a polyurethane systems house focused on the development and production of coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers. In May of 1991 their hard work and dedication paid off, and the first STOCKMEIER Urethanes site was incorporated in Bielefeld, Germany.
