Dyco® Shield & Seal™ is a solvent-based thermoplastic rubber coating specially formulated to provide a tough, water-resistant seal that remains flexible. It is a solvent base that will set up in 30 to 60 minutes eliminating the dangers of a wash-off due to sudden rain. This coating is resistant to dirt pick up as it is fortified with teflon when dried.

Recommended Uses
  • It protects, beautifies, and insulates, displaying high reflective values for cooling your roof.
  • Surfaces: Properly prepared steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, asphaltic aluminum coatings, and concrete roofs.
Material Preparation

Mixing: Mix thoroughly by stirring with a lifting motion. Should be applied without thinning.

Surface Preparation
  • Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, oil, or grease.
  • Rust should be removed from metal surfaces by wire brushing, steel wool or industrial abrasive paper and apply one coat of Dyco #MP-50 White Metal Primer or comparable metal primer.
  • On old surfaces, remove chalk by pressure cleaning or wire brushing; also, if necessary, seal the surface with a chalk sealer.
  • If mildew is evident, use a mildew treatment.
  • Repair all leaks with Dyco #20/20 Seam Seal brush on caulk or appropriate patching compound.
  • If leaking areas are severe, embed fiberglass tape into the first layer of brush on caulk, and then apply another layer of brush on caulk over the taped area.
  • Allow to dry thoroughly before applying Dyco #890.

Paintbrush, roller, or suitable spray equipment may apply.
