Supremepolystyreneresinscanberecycled,incineratedordisposedoffinlandfillwithoutdetrimenttotheenvironment.Adequateventilationshouldbeusedduringprocessing.WhererecyclingofSupremePolystyreneisnotpossible,disposaltolandfillorincinerationinaccordancewithallapplicablegovernmentlawsandregulationsisrecommended.MaterialSafetyDataSheets(MSDS)forSupremePolystyreneresinsareavailablefromSupremePetrochemLtd.MSDSareprovidedtohelpcustomersintheirownhandling,safetyanddisposalneedsandthosethatmayberequiredforapplicablehealthandsafetyregulationse.g.OHSAS18001andISO14000.Supremeflameretardantpolystyrenegradescontainsadditiveswhichmayreleasehazardousortoxicvapors through lengthy or excessive exposure to high heat. Use suitable personal protective equipments.

Handling Precautions

WhilethehandlingofSupremepolystyrenepelletsgenerallydoesnotpresentunusualproblems,adustcanbeformedundersomecircumstances.Ifpersonsareexposedtothisdust,theyshouldbeprotectedfromdustinhalationbyuseofapproveddustrespirators.Contactwiththeskinandeyesshouldbepreventedbyuseofprotectiveequipmentand/orclothing.SPLrecommendsstoringofpolystyreneincool&dryplaceinashadeaway from sunlight and heat. The packing used is not UV stabilized and hence should not be exposed to sunlight.
