Product Features

The world’s first and only sprayable pheromone option for NOW control, this product easily fits into growers’ existing integrated pest management (IPM) program. It is tank mixable with common agrochemicals and works well with nearly any water volume. CheckMate® NOW-F gives growers the flexibility to spray few or many times each season depending on the timing and pressure of NOW flights in their fields. The product is also a perfect option for younger trees that can’t yet support the weight of a Puffer® unit. Also, CheckMate® NOW-F can be used with Puffer® NOW Ace for a flexible approach against hot spots or peak flights.

Almonds, pistachios, figs, walnuts, and other crops where NOW is present Navel Orangeworm causes yield losses and facilitates aflatoxin contamination. Monitor mating disruption performance using large delta traps with NOW pheromone lure Hang traps early in the season (March) 1 set of traps per 20 acres; at least 2 traps per block Check traps weekly, replacing lures every 5-6 weeks Replace trap bottoms as needed to ensure stickiness Use egg traps with almond meal for added info on female pest dynamics Use hull-split assessments for best indication of pest populations.Navel Orangeworm causes yield losses and facilitates aflatoxin contamination.

USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. Users should remove clothing/PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Caution: Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Applicators and other handlers must wear long-sleeved shirt and long pants, waterproof gloves, and shoes plus socks. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD

For terrestrial use. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposing of equipment wash waters or rinsates.

Storage & Handling

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

DO NOT contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.

PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store in a cool place until used. Protect from freezing.

PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water.

CONTAINER HANDLING: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty remaining contents into application equipment or a mix tank and drain for 10 seconds after the flow begins to drip. Fill container 1/4 full with water and recap. Shake 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or mix tank or store rinsate for later use or disposal. Drain for 10 seconds after flow begins to drip. Repeat this procedure two more times. Then offer for recycling or reconditioning, or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill, or incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke.
