Applications

Wine grapes, table grapes, and raisin grapes. Look throughout your vineyard for honeydew and ant activity on vines Monitor mating disruption effectiveness using small paper delta traps with sex pheromone lure Hang traps in March to detect early activity One trap per 10-20 acres; at least 2 traps per block Hang at cordon height Check traps a minimum of once every 2 weeks, replacing lures every 4 weeks.Vine Mealybug decreases vine vigor and causes defoliation and grape cluster damage. Treating VMB can reduce the spread of leafroll virus. Impacts of VMB infestation include sooty mold damage on grapes and resulting in quality loss and unmarketable fruit.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. CheckMate® VMB-XL is a behavior modifying biochemical product (pheromone) which functions by mating disruption. It is to be used for control of the Vine Mealybug (Planococcus ficus) on raisin, table and wine grapes.

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS

CAUTION: Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Causes moderate irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Applicators and other handlers must wear work clothing consisting of long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, chemical resistant gloves, and protective eyeware.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD

FOR TERRESTERIAL USES: Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the high water mark.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

DO NOT contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.

PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store container in cool place until used. Reseal containers immediately after use. Store unused product in a refrigerator or freezer not used for food storage. PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from use of this product may be disposed of on-site or at an approved disposal facility.

CONTAINER DISPOSAL: Plastic containers: Non-refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triple rinse (or equivalent). Then offer for recycling or reconditioning or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities, by burning. If burned stay out of smoke. Bag/Cardboard Box: Non-refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container.
