Properties and Fields of use

The emulsion is particularly suitable for production of matt to glossy paints for indoor and
outdoor use and for formulations for tile adhesives. The film dries above the film formation
temperature to give a clear coating, shows little tendency to swell in water and a high
saponification resistance. Because of these properties Liocryl AS 320 is expecially suitable for
the production of outdoor paints and plastics-bound plasters as well as for impregnating and
priming brickwork and sanding plasters.

Processing information

Liocryl AS 320 N has good compatibility with common fillers and pigments. For dispersing
pigment-filler blends, it is necessary to use smal amounts of dispersing and wetting agents.
Commercially available products, such as cellulose ether, salts of polyAcrylic acid or PUR
thickeners are suitable as thickening agents.
To lower the film formation temperature it is necessary to add coalescence agents like glycol
ether, Texanol, propylene glycol ether, or such agents combined with white spirit in an amount
of 1.5 to 2% relative to the finished product.
For defoaming, products such as Byk W, Nopco-8034 or Agitan 280 can be used.
The emulsion is preserved for storage. It contains no alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO’s) and no
formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing products. To preserve manufactured finished products
suitable preservatives, determined experimentally, must be added.
