Uses

In combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates for air- and stove-drying two-component coatings for industrial coatings with high flexibility, adhesion and weathering resistance.

Properties and Fields of use

SYNTHALAT A 045 is used primarily in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates for air- and
stove-drying coatings for metals and plastics. These types of 2-component coatings should be
used preferably in instances where high coating qualities are required but where stoving is
impossible due to the size or heat-sensitivity of the object to be coated. Examples are paints for
caravans, cladding panels, objects made of plastic, etc

Technical Details & Test Data

Film Properties

In combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates like „Desmodur N“, full-bedied, non-yellowing
coating ar obtained that have excellent weathering resistance and gloss retention.
These types of films are characterized by a high flexibility and good adhesion even to problem
substrates. They are also distinguished by good water resistance and good resistance to
corrosive chemicals.
In comparsion with A 190, A 150/151, A 085, A 065 and A 055 SYNTHALAT-A 045 gives film
with a maximum flexibility and impact resistance.

Pigmentation

SYNTHALAT A 045 has a high pigment loading. All neutal pigments and fillers are suitable for
pigmentation. Basic pigments and pigments containing soluble metallic compounds may exert
a catalytic effect on curing and shorten the pot life of finished mixed batches.
