In combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates air- and stove-drying two-compontent coatings for
industrial paintings with good mechanical properties and resistance to chemicals.- Properties and Fields of use
SYNTHLALAT A 085 is used primarily in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates for air- and
stove-drying coatings for metals and plastics. These types of 2-component coatings are
preferable in instances where high coating qualities are required but where stoving is
impossible due to the size or heat-sensitivity of the object to be coated. Examples are
agricultural machinery, building machinery, objects made of plastics, etc.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Pigmentation
SYNTHALAT-A 085 has a high pigment loading and a very good pigment wetting. All neutal
pigments and Fillers are suitable for pigmentation. Basic pigments and pigments containing
soluble metallic compounds may exert a catalytic effect on curing and shorten the pot life of
finished mixed batches.- Mixing ratio with poly-isocyanates
Assuming equivalent reaction of the reactive groups (NCO:OH = 1:1), the following formula
applies for the calculation of the added amount of polyisocyanate (relative to 100 parts by
weight of SYNTHALAT-A 085, solid):
42 X 100 X 2.6
17 X NCO %
42 = molecular weight to the NCO group
17 = molecular weight of the OH group
2.6 = hydroxyl content of SYNTHALAT-A 085 in % relative to solid resin.
Best results are obtained with a mixing ratio of 100 parts by weight of SYNTHALAT-A 085 (form
in which supplied) to 20-25 parts by weight of „Desmodur N 75%“.
