Technical Details & Test Data
- Film Properties and Processing
Synthalat W 30 is water thinnable after neutralization with amines of ammonia. With primer
formulations on steel in a 60 μm dry film, 240 h are achieved in the salt spray test according to
DIN 50021.
In combination with LIOCRYL AS 610 or AS 615 for hybrid systems. A faster non-tackiness and
paints with less than 5% solvent are thereby obtained.
Further application are single coat systems with excellent anti-corrosive properties and hioghgloss
top coats. pH-value of formulated paints should be measured and adjusted to 8,0-8,5
after grinding.
For air-drying formulations with Synthalat W30 we recommend drier combinations as follows:
0,05-0,15% Co, 0,05-0,15%Mn for primers and colored paints
0,05-0,15% Co and 0,1-0,6%Zr for white pigmented systems
(calculated as metal content on solids).
With DMEA as neutralizing agent Synthalat W30 is also suitable for combination with melamine
resins (e.g. Cymel 327) to formulate stoving laquers.
