Technical Advancement of WS Biotinᵀᴹ

WS Biotinᵀᴹ is a water-soluble, dry powder form of D-Biotin (50% w/w). Tagra’s unique technology makes life easier for formulators: Formulating with WS Biotinᵀᴹ results in a pH of 6-8 and does not require using any solvents for solubilizing Biotin. It prevents any risk of crystallization in the formula, therefore, maintaining its potency, and it is added to the formulation at room temperature using a simple paddle mixer or homogenizer, as needed. With this increased versatility and redefinition of biotin as an easy-to-incorporate ingredient, Tagra's WS Biotinᵀᴹ solution becomes the perfect addition to a wide range of cosmetic products.

WS Biotinᵀᴹ Benefits for End Users

WS Biotinᵀᴹ is highly beneficial for the end-user, as Biotin is known for its ability to strengthen hair and nails, and improve skin health, and with our water-soluble technology, the biotin in our product is more readily available for the hair and skin to absorb, providing more effective treatments for the user. By offering a dramatically higher solubility level of 2g/100ml compared to 0.02g/100ml for free Biotin, WS Biotinᵀᴹ also creates highly concentrated formulas for customers. Tagra revolutionizes the skin, hair, and scalp care industries by enabling cosmetic manufacturers to deliver previously unattainable formulas and performance.

In-vitro (Hair Care)

The in vitro treatment with 0.1% of WS Biotinᵀᴹ water solution in Human Follicle Dermal Papilla Cells (HFDPC), displays hair growth-stimulating eects, substantiated in a significant upregulation of Fibroblast Growth Factor 7 (FGF7) compared to the untreated control.

WS Biotin™ - In-Vitro (Hair Care)

In-vitro assay results for stimulating the gene expression of Fibroblast Growth Factor 7 (FGF7).
The results show that the treatment with WS Biotinᵀᴹ at 0.1% significantly upregulated gene expression by 122.1 %, versus untreated control.

In-vitro (Skincare)

Melanin is primarily responsible for the pigmentation of human skin, eyes and skin. Among other stimuli, ultraviolet radiation triggers the biosynthesis of melanin and the subsequent melanosome transfer to epidermal keratinocytes.

We assessed the inhibitory capabilities of WS Biotinᵀᴹ on melanin biosynthesis through a 72-hour in vitro treatment on Normal Human Epidermal Melanocytes (NHEM) that were subjected to irradiation with ultraviolet A (UVA) irradiation, followed by a 48-hour period of intracellular melanin accumulation.

Results obtained from cells co-exposed to UVA and WS Biotinᵀᴹ for 72 hours, strongly suggested that this product at 0.1 % displays whitening activity demonstrated by a reduction of UVA-induced melanin levels by 18.4 % compared to the untreated Control + UVA.

Effect of WS Biotinᵀᴹ on the UVA-induced accumulation of melanin:
