- Characteristics
- Production Cultivation of plants lasts at least 3 months during the vegetative period. For a fascinates more lush, cultivation can be prolonged. The fascine allows the minimum establishment of 2 to 3 plants per linear meter. The choice of varietal species is done according to your project (type of soil and installation environment) Some commonly used species: Loosestrife, Rush, Carex Iris, Phragmites.
- 100% Breton manufacturing Two companies are colla bating in this project Technichanvre - Chanvrière du Belon (29) for manufacturing (coconut mesh + fiber hemp) The Penthièvre Nursery (22) for revegetation
- Implementation The installation is done on the shore using wooden piles that hold the fascine. The set up can be done all year round except during the frost period. If the depth, or the water variations are significant, it is possible to stack non-vegetated fascines.
- Interview To allow a good proliferation of flora, the fascine must remain constantly submerged: minimum 1/3 of its height when submerged. In case of drought, it is important to keep the fascine moist.
- Goals
- Fight against erosion
- Provide mechanical protection of the banks
- Promote nurseries (tadpoles, minnows, fry, etc.)
- Principle
- The installed fascine joins the bank through the rooting of plants.
- The plants allowing this connection, called helophytes, are planted on the fascine at a rate of 2 to 3 plants/ml.
- The presence of the fascine makes it possible to dampen the swell of the water.
- The fascine in hemp fibers allows the deposit of sediments and alluvium essential to the recovery of the plant.
- Because of its biodegradability, it eventually disappears, leaving behind a vegetated bank.
- The use of the Chanvriberg ® fascine is a technique that falls within the field of plant engineering.
