  • DecoFlake and DecoQuartz are decorative floor systems, combining a 100% solids pigmented or non-pigmented base coat, decorative colored acrylic flakes or colored quartz granules, and a clear epoxy or polyurea protective topcoat. The seamless systems are impervious to most common chemicals, provide durable floor surfaces that require minimum maintenance and are an ideal alternative to vinyl tile or standard solid color epoxy coatings.

Applications & Uses

Application
  • DecoFlake and DecoQuartz are excellent for interior and exterior applications (with the appropriate UV color-stable topcoat) or where moderate traffic can be anticipated. Both may be installed with a variety of slip-resistant textures.
  • DecoFlake can be installed as a random flake (light broadcast) or as a full flake (broadcast to rejection) system.
Degrees Recoat Time
77°F 5-7 hrs.
60°F 10-13 hrs.

The above table assumes substrate, ambient and material temperatures are equal and material is applied at 20 mils in thickness.

  • Both random flake, full flake and quartz systems may be top coated with a variety of Thermal- Chem clear topcoat materials depending upon specific performance criteria and customer requirements.
  • Typically random flake systems are coated with 1057 DecoFinish E57, or 1061 ArmorFinish E-81 urethane and full flake and quartz systems are coated with 748 DecoTop Clear, 707 DecoTop Clear Plus 3.0 (Thermal- Chem’s best epoxy clear coats) or 1062 DecoFinish P81 (polyurea) where UV resistance is critical.
Product Application

All decorative flooring systems can be installed over Thermal-Chem’s VaporGard Product #211 coating where hydrostatic and vapor transmissions could pose a potential hazard and DecoWear™ is compatible with any of the Thermal-Chem companion repair products (refer to catalog). Refer to the appropriate Thermal-Chem System Installation Guide.
