- Applications
- Application
- 739 FlexGard M can be applied, using a roller, in a single coat. 739 FlexGard M can also be applied in several or multiple coats, or with a small, notched squeegee (then backrolled using a spiked roller) for thicker applications.
- Minimum application thickness is 30 mils.
- Depending on project requirements and thickness desired, 739 FlexGard M can be installed from approximately 15 mils to 30 mils in a single lift or application. An appropriate Thermal-Chem topcoat material should be applied to provide improved surface protection or for desired texture.
- 739 FlexGard M can be used as a waterproofing membrane, under one of the Thermal-Chem flooring or coating systems, to provide exceptional stability and flexural strength over concrete or wood substrates that experience excessive vibration or where flexural properties are desired. For use on interior or exterior applications over concrete or wood surfaces as a resilient floor system or as a flexible liner to waterproof concrete, metal or wood containment tanks on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces. 739 FlexGard M provides a smooth finish that has impact resistance, contains no volatiles, and meets VOC guidelines. To avoid unevenness in the finished floor surface, a pre-fill coat may be required.
Degrees Recoat Time 77°F 4-5 hrs. 60°F 8-9 hrs. The above table assumes that the ambient temperature, material and substrate are equal.
- Product Application
739 FlexGard M can be applied over the VaporGard Coating System in applications where hydrostatic or vapor transmissions could be a potential hazard; and can be used with any of the Thermal-Chem complimentary and repair products; and can be applied as a:
- Neat system by squeegee and bankrolled with a porcupine roller.
- Neat as a thicker, self-leveling coat, backrolling with a porcupine roller.
- Applied in multiple coats up to desired thickness.
- Uses
Typical uses for the 739 FlexGard M include:
- Laboratories, pharmaceutical and clean room applications
- Flexible membrane coat under many Thermal- Chem floors
- A waterproofing membrane for containment tanks
- Excellent membrane system for mechanical equipment rooms
Where the following qualities are required:
- Where cracks and joints can not be tolerated
- Flexible/waterproofing protection
- Permanent and durable floor protection
