Tiger 90CR® Sulphur

1 of 3 products in this brand
Tiger 90CR® Sulfur is a high analysis granular degradable sulfur product that can be used both as a source of plant nutrient sulfur and/or as a soil amendment for correction of problem alkali soils. Yearly applications of Tiger 90CR Sulfur will improve soil sulfur levels as well as loss associated with nutrients that are soluble. Tiger 90CR Sulfur is a unique, high analysis sulfur fertilizer that delivers agronomically and economically, and provides excellent handling characteristics.

Features & Benefits

Benefits of Using Tiger 90CR® Sulphur

Sulfur deficiency symptoms typically include:

  • Very similar to those of nitrogen, yellowing of leaf
  • Occurs when N to S ratio is greater than 20 to 1 or when S levels are below 0.15% in leaf tissue
  • Sulfur deficiency has become a more important factor in soil fertility plans.

Including Tiger 90CR Sulfur in your soil fertility program can provide many benefits because sulfur:

  • Is required for nitrogen fixation
  • Enhances nitrogen use efficiency
  • Is essential for protein synthesis
  • Improves availability of phosphorus and some micronutrients
  • Microorganisms require S to decompose plant residue
  • Grasses respond favorably to applications of sulfur
  • Helps lower soil pH for grasses, plants and trees adversely affected by high pH conditions
Product Highlights
  • Superior Handling

The high analysis of Tiger 90CR® Sulfur (0-0-0-90), means each pastille is 90% sulfur. It is almost four times more concentrated than ammonium sulfate, which results in less product to handle, blend, and spread. The consistant size and shape of the pastilles allow for ease of spreading.

  • Tiger 90CR Sulfur Accelerated Conversion

Tiger 90CR Sulfur contains a special blend of bentonite clay to facilitate pastille fracturing and disperse the sulfur particles. Research shows that Tiger 90CR Sulfur converts to sulfate faster than other forms of degradable elemental sulfur.

Tiger 90CR Sulphur, Making Good Turf and Ornamental Better
  • Economical: High analysis provides less product handling and storage, and less cost per pound of actual plant nutrient.
  • Effective: Increased nitrogen utilization, phosphate and micronutrient uptake.
  • Stable: Resists leaching until converted to sulfate form.
  • High-Quality: Industry leading quality and product uniformity.
  • Long-Term Availability: Sulfur particles convert to sulfate throughout the season and act as building blocks to provide long-lasting, healthy soil conditions.

Applications & Uses

General Application and Use Recommendations
  • Tiger 90CR Sulfur, when used as a part of a balanced fertility program, can provide a season-long source of sulfate. Tiger 90CR Sulfur can be applied alone or blended with granular fertilizers. Amount required should be based on agronomic recommendations for specific crop SO4 uptake needs should be supported by soil tests and plant tissue analyzes.
  • If Tiger 90CR Sulfur® is not applied regularly as part of a fertilizer program, or if soil sulfur levels are below the critical level of 10 ppm, and your application is first time for this product on a given field, then soluble sulfate should be applied to high sulfur-using crops such as oil seeds and legumes.
  • Under no circumstances should Tiger 90CR Sulfur be applied alone to sulfur deficient soil unless the application rate applied is adequate enough to overcome the sulfur deficiency. In Northern soils where soil temperature does not exceed 65°F until mid June, Tiger-Sul recommends an application of a combination of sulfate and Tiger 90CR Sulfur to assist with early season plant nutrient sulfur availability.
  • This will be most effective in fields that have not received sulfur bentonite in previous 3 years. Consult with a Tiger-Sul representative or an agronomic specialist for further recommendations.

  • 1 Assumptions: cation exchange capacity of the sandy, silt loam, and clay soils are 5, 10, and 15 meq/100 g, respectively; soils are not calcareous. The above rates are based on incorporating sulfur into the soil 4 inches deep.
  • Note: When applying on an established turf the application rate should not exceed 2.5 lbs. S/1000 ft2 per application. It is recommended that multiple applications occur on 10‐12 weeks intervals.
  • If irrigation (1/2 inch water) will occur immediately after application, maximum of 4 lbs S/1000 ft2 may be applied. Over application may burn turf foliage.
  • In all cases, Tiger-Sul recommends that professional advice be obtained prior to starting a soil amending program.
  • Apply appropriate amount of Tiger 90CR Sulfur according to soil amending needs recommended by a soil professional.
  • Monitor soil pH levels and determine if additional Tiger 90CR Sulfur applications are required.

Storage & Handling

Storage and Handling Information
  • Tiger 90CR Sulfur, will blend and store well with other granular fertilizer products. Accepted blending and handling procedures should be followed when using Tiger 90CR Sulfur. Good housekeeping is necessary when handling sulfur products.
  • Tiger-Sul Products uses a special anti-dust agent to minimize air borne dust. Always use stringent dust control procedures to prevent concentrated flammable dusts from reaching a spark or flame source.
  • Sulfur materials should not be blended and stored with strong oxidizing agents such as ammonium nitrate. Avoid extensive use of augers due to fracturing of the product.
