Storage & Handling
- Storage and Handling Information
- Good housekeeping is necessary when handling sulfur products. Always use stringent dust control procedures to prevent concentrated flammable dusts from reaching a spark or flame source.
- Sulfur materials should not be blended and stored with strong oxidizing agents such as ammonium nitrate.
- Avoid extensive use of augers due to fracturing of the product. Review the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA) 655: Standard for Prevention of Sulfur Fires and Explosions for additional information.
