Installing ceiling tiles over many common surfaces.
- Compatible Materials
Acoustical ceiling tiles to many building materials including: painted and unpainted drywall, gypsum wallboard, concrete, hardboard, plywood and wood.
- Directions
Preparation : Surfaces must be dry and free from any material that may deter adhesion.
Application : Let adhesive and materials acclimate to room temperature 24 hours before installing. Note: Do not use when temperature, adhesive or materials are below 50°F. Using the “butter” method, spread a thin layer of adhesive to cover a large area of each corner of tile. Then apply adhesive in 1” to 1 ½” mounds (golf ball size). Place mounds 2“ to 3” in from the corners on the back of the tile. Immediately press tile into position, working the tile back and forth ½” to flatten the mounds of adhesive. Adhesive should be flattened to a mound ³⁄₁₆” thick and 2 ½” in diameter. When installing interlocking tile, do not slide tile into groove of adjacent tile until it has been pressed against the ceiling to its proper level.
Cleanup : Tools and adhesive may be cleaned with water while the adhesive is wet. If dried, tools and adhesive may be cleaned with water/acetone/vinegar mixture. Follow solvent vendor’s precautions.
- User Tips
For tiles larger than 12” x 12”, place a 1” to 1 ½” mound (golf ball size) of adhesive on each square foot corner. Please contact Technical Service at 1.800.347.4583 for questions concerning the amount of adhesive needed per panel. For best results, store Titebond GREENchoice Acoustical Ceiling Tile Adhesive above 50°F.

Exceeds the performance requirements of ASTM C557 and has been tested in accordance with ASTM E72 for racking and shearing. This product has a NFPA Class A fire rating when tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 and meets LEED v4.1, SCAQMD, CARB and NAHB Green Building specifications.
