TR Industries TR-212 HIGH OPERATING TEMPERATURE LIQUID RELEASE AGENT

TR Industries TR-212 High Operating Temperature Liquid Release Agent is a high temperature PTFE liquid release agent of a nearly frictionless polymer lubricant dispersed in a solvent medium. Provides a smooth thin release film that works equally well on various thermoset resins (epoxy, polyester, etc.) thermoplastics (acrylic, polycarbonate, nylon, etc.), rubber (natural, synthetic) and metal tooling applications.

Functions: Mold Release Agent, Release Agent

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Acrylics, Epoxies (EP), Natural Rubbers (NR), Polyamides, Polycarbonates (PC), Polyesters

Processing Methods: Casting, Compression Molding, Filament Winding, Hand Lay-Up, Injection Molding, Resin Transfer Molding, Vacuum Casting

End Uses: Tooling

  • Vacuum bag/RTM
  • Filament winding/Vacuum forming
APPLICATION

Apply a uniform coat by spray, brush, wipe or dip, avoiding excessive amount or flooding when sprayed. Recommended spray application using medium pressure with semi-wide fan pattern. High spray pressures and low fluid flow can result in a dry film deposit and poor adhesion to the mold surface. Apply 2 coats on new molds in cross direction; allow drying before beginning molding process. Use subsequent applications as needed. Rough or porous surface molds may need additional break-in coats or a sealer. Multiple releases can be achieved before recoat is necessary and will vary according to mold design, process and materials incorporated.

NOTE: Some settling does occur as product sits or is stored requiring agitation before and during use to ensure uniformity of applied release coat.
