- Uses
Ultraprime is an exterior acrylic primer designed for use over high pH surfaces such as stucco, prepared masonry or concrete and has excellent adhesion to primed metal and wood surfaces.
- Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean and free of bonding-inhibiting materials such as dirt, dust, rust, grease, oil, efflorescence, mildew, fungus, form-re- lease agents or any other contaminants. Remove and repair any loose paint, mortar, stucco, concrete or masonry by water blasting, sand blasting, scraping or using a wire brush. If applying over a painted surface, test paint to make sure it is load bearing.
- Coverage
Approximate coverage is 500 - 750 sq. ft. per pail at 4 mils. Dry thickness (coverage will vary depending on substrate, surface texture and application technique.)
- Clean Up
Clean tools immediately after use. Remove all debris from the surrounding areas immediately following the application process.
- Mixing
Mix with a drill mixer for 1 minute or until consistent prior to use. A pint (16 oz.) of potable water may be added to 5 gallons of Ultraprime for spray application.
- Application
Ultraprime exterior acrylic primer may be applied by roller, brush or spray equipment. Always apply Ultraprime in a continuous application, working to a wet edge to eliminate cold joints.
- Curing
Curing time averages 3 hours depending on ambient temperature, humidity and film thickness. Ultraprime will dry completely within 12 hours.
- Limitations
Ultraprime should be applied when surface and ambient conditions are between 45ºF and 100ºF and should be protected from rain for a minimum of 24 hours. Substrate must have a pH of 12 or lower.
