- Basic Uses
- Use as a first coat under ZAR® Interior Oil ModifiedUrethane Poly OMUand all other ZAR® water base or oil base polys.
- Exotic hardwood approved – Ideal for use on Teak, Brazilian Walnut, Brazilian Cherry, and other exotic wood species.
- Use on floors, cabinets, furniture, and woodwork.
- Limitations
Do not use steel wool.
- Applications & Uses
Surface Preparation
- New Wood: Sand smooth using fine sandpaper, vacuum sanding dust. Wipe clean using a tack cloth or microfiber cloth. Do not use steel wool. To fill open-grained woods, use a filler that does not contain waxes, such as ZAR® Wood Patch or ZAR® Trowelable Wood Patch.
- Old Clear FinishesinGood Condition: Remove grease, dirt and wax. Sand lightly in the direction of the grain to remove any gloss. Do not use steel wool. Vacuum allsanding dust. Wipe clean using a tack cloth or microfiber cloth. If the old finish contains wax orstearates,regardless of condition,remove completely. Clean dust with cloth dampened with paint thinner or mineralspirits. Old Clear Finishesin Poor Condition: Remove completely.Do not use steel wool. Sand and vacuum allsanding dust. Wipe clean using a tack cloth or microfiber cloth. If the wood isto be stained, use ZAR® Interior Oil Base Stain. Allow ZAR® Interior Oil Base Stain to dry a minimum of 3 hours.
- NOTE: To ensure satisfactory results, always prepare a sample ortest the product on an inconspicuous area to determine compatibility priorto completing the entire job.
Maintainance
Areas with harsh exposure to sun, weather, or foot traffic willshow wear more quickly than othersurfaces. If this occurs, clean affected areas and recoat as necessary.
Dry Time
- First coat: 1 hour
- Succeeding coats: 2 hours
Note: Maximum cure and dry time will be prolonged when slightly humid and damp, cool conditions prevail.
Cleanup: Warm soapy water Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and unused contents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Coverage(SQ.FT./GAL.): 528 sq. ft. (49 m2) per gallon
Note: Actual coverage will vary depending upon application method, surface texture, and porosity.

Caution
Do not take internally. Keep from freezing. Keep away from heat and flame. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapors. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache, or dizziness, or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor/mist levels are above applicable limits, wear an appropriate, properly fitted respirator (niosh-approved) during and after application. Follow respirator manufacturer’s directions for respirator use. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Ifspilled, contain spilled material and remove with inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container, and unused contentsin accordance with local, state, and federalregulations.
First Aid
In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of waterfor at least 15 minutes and call poison control center, hospital emergency room, or physician immediately; forskin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, call poison control center, hospital emergency room, or physician immediately. Ifswallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call poison control center, hospital emergency room, or physician immediately. Keep out ofreach ofchildren.
Danger
Rags, steel wool, or waste soaked withproduct may spontaneously catchfire if improperly discarded. Immediately afteruse, place rags, steel wool, or waste ina sealed, water-filled metal container.
