Hydroperm® Metal Casting Plaster is a specialized plaster used for fabricating permeable plaster molds. Hydroperm® Metal Casting Plaster dries with a porous structure of small, uniform, interconnected cells just beneath its surface, offering channels through which steam or other mold gasses can escape during the metal-casting operation.

CAS-20® 4 Calcium Sulfate Filler

USG Corporation TERRA ALBA NO. 1, Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate Filler is a flame-retarding filler. It offers low abrasion to processing equipment and is available in 50 lb. bags or 2,000 semi-bulk from USG’s Southard, Oklahoma plant. USG Terra Alba No. 1 Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate Filler is made by fine grinding and air separating a select, high purity white gypsum containing approximately 20% water of crystallization. Depending upon vapor pressure, relative humidity, loading levels, etc., this water of crystallization, or combined water as it is often called, starts being released as the USG Terra Alba No. 1 Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate Filler is heated above 50 °C. At approximately 180 °C, 75% of the combined water has been released. Water is not totally removed until temperatures exceed 400 °C.

CAS-20® 4 Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler is manufactured from high purity gypsum rock using controlled calcination and fine grinding; the calcination process used greatly reduces its moisture affinity. USG CAS-20-4 Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler can be used at high loadings and consistently provides an excellent balance of properties and good surface appearance. It is ideal for food packaging applications that require a filler with high purity and food acid resistance. USG CAS-20-4 Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler can also be used as a partial replacement for titanium dioxide (TiO2) because of its high brightness and opacity. The narrow particle size distribution contributes to optimum impact properties in thermoplastics; USG CAS-20-4 Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler finds success in a variety of thermoplastic, thermoset and plastisol systems. In addition, the low Mohs hardness minimizes abrasion to processing equipment. USG CAS-20-4 Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler is available in 50 lb. bags or 2,000 lb. semibulk.

Snow White Calcium Sulfate Filler is made by high temperature calcinations of select, high purity gypsum which is then ground and air separated into a bright, white powder. It is used in a variety of polymeric and cementitious system and is available in 50 lb. bags or 2,000 lb. semi-bulk or bulk from USG’s Southard, Oklahoma plant. USG Snow White Anhydrous Calcium Sulfate Filler offers low abrasion to processing equipment, is resistant to weak acids and has a lower specific gravity than barium sulfate. In addition, it contributes to desired expansion, green strength and controllable set in specialty cement applications.

Ideal for solid cast pieces, USG Ultimate Drystone Casting Media is formulated to increase chip resistance and is an excellent alternative to polyester resin.

Low water requirements result in high-strength, high-density glass fiber-reinforced gypsum pieces. USG Hydrocal FGR 95 is exceptionally quick setting and accepts most coatings and finishes. USG Hydrocal FGR 95 overcomes building fire code incompatibilities faced by many plastics – at roughly one-third the cost of filled polyesters.
