Vegalab Fungus Control

Vegalab Fungus Control is a fungicide derived from plant extracts that helps prevent infections caused by several types of root fungi. These root fungi attack roots during early development, causing stagnation of growth. Apply Fungus Control as a preventative during the crop season via soil irrigation.

    Identification & Functionality

    Agrochemical Functions
    Technologies
    Active Ingredients

Fungus Control uses the natural extracts of Yucca (Yucca schidigera) to reach the highest efficacy. Yucca extracts contain saponins which have fungicidal properties. The application of Fungus Control on crops affected by fungi reduces the rate of infection and disease severity in crops.

    Applications & Uses

    Application Technique
    Pests Targeted
    • Effective against Fusarium, which can persist in soil for up to 6 years.
    • Effective against Pythium, which affects the roots of crops and kills seedlings.
    • Effective against Phytophthora, which causes decay of buds, tubers, and roots.
    • Effective against Rhizoctonia, which causes Damping Off.
    Applications

Fungus Control can be applied to any crop. At the beginning of disease onset, mix 7.6 mL (1 1/2 tsp.) of product with one gallon (1 gal.) of water to properly dilute. This product can also be used in other quantities, respecting the dilution rate of 1:500; product to water. For area applications, use 20.8 oz to 27.7 oz per acre of land. Apply this product directly to the soil, before planting, in order to prevent fungal attack at the early stages of a crop’s development. Also, we recommend making several applications during the crop season, as a preventive measure to prevent further attacks.

    Mode of Action

This product produces chitinases, enzymes that degrade the chitin in fungus cell walls, preventing the spread of spores and fungus growth in crop tissues. The enzymatic complex present in Fungus Control acts at the root level, preventing infection by fungi and stimulating plant/root growth, so root fungal infection is minimized. Fungus Control should be applied before infection by fungi, as a preventive method. It can also be used as a treatment for crops infected by fungi using the dilution ratios listed below.
