Spider Mite Control uses natural cottonseed, peppermint, and rosemary oil extracts, in combination with geraniol, as the active ingredients to reach the highest level of efficacy, while greatly reducing the environmental impact of using this product. Spider Mite Control kills spider mites effectively on contact (direct toxicity). The oils biodegrade naturally under warm conditions and do not leave any harmful residues behind. A foliar spray on the leaves of plants will control various insects for several days. Geraniol is also an effective insect repellent.

Spider mites are Acari of the family Tetranychidae, which includes a wide number of species. They generally live under plant leaves, which get damaged when the spider mites feed on them. They are quite small and they lay eggs, which can also cause plant damage after hatching. They attack a large variety of plants such as tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, beans, corn, strawberry, etc. Damaged plants show small light flecks. Spider Mites can become a pest when insecticides kill their natural predators. In high populations, they produce webbing to protect themselves and their eggs. A single mature female can spawn about one million mites in approximately one month. Their accelerated reproductive rates allow spider mites to quickly adapt to chemical pesticides and become resistant.
- Applications
To apply Spider Mite Control during a spider mite outbreak, use 0.256 oz of product with one gallon (1 gal.) of water to dilute. It can also be used in other quantities, respecting the dilution rate of 1:500 product to water. After dilution, spray the product onto the plant leaves above and below. Do not apply prior to excessive rains, since this may reduce product effectiveness. Apply again in event of rain. Apply every 3-5 days. Avoid applying product during peak sunlight as oil-based products may cause phytotoxic effects.
- Mode of Action
Spider Mite Control blocks the breathing holes of spider mites, so they die by suffocation. It also deactivates the eggs and prevents hatching. Spider Mite Control also causes reproductive disruption among female spider mites, leading to infertility or mites that don't develop to an adult stage.
