Formulex™ extracts are manufactured from the finest quality botanicals, sourced domestically and globally utilizing eco-friendly growers and wildcrafters who embrace our corporate policy of supporting only sustainable farming. Specific parts of the plant are then utilized as per the CTFA/INCI monographs. Prior to conducting the extraction process, close detail is given to the unique constituents inherent to each botanical. The exclusive Formulex™ process is then utilized taking into account the requirements for separating the beneficial constituents native to each botanical.
The extraction process allows for the isolation and separation of the constituents without transforming them into other undesirable by-products. In addition, valuable volatile plant compounds are now solubilized during the extraction process, and are maintained in the finished extract at the same levels as are found within the botanical matter. Most conventional extraction processes cause these volatile constituents to separate from the extract or become altered, thus changing the end profile of the extract. The end results are Formulex™ extracts with consistent quality from lot to lot and crop to crop.
Chromatographic tests reveal that Vege Tech’s Formulex™ extracts contain more of the beneficial constituents than many of the conventional extracts available on the market (see fig. 1). For example, many of the organic substances found in Formulex™ Chamomile extract are absent in the Chamomile extract from a leading competitor. Similar test results are obtained with numerous other extract comparisons. Vege Tech’s Formulex™ extracts contain only the pure, light, easy-to-use characteristics formulators desire.
Formulex™ extracts are safe and effective for external use. Formulex™ extracts may be added to all Emulsions, Gels, Sprays, Cosmetics, Skin & Hair Care, Bath & Body, Household & Laundry as well as Pet Care products. Formulex™ has far more flexibility in providing the formulator with a variety of compatible liquid carriers or carrier blends such as: Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol or Alcohols. Preservative package options include but are not limited to Benzyl Alcohol, Ethyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol and Parabens, Caprylyl Glycol, Capryloyl Glycine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate. Simply stated, Formuplex™ extract blends are made from Formulex™ botanical extracts, and represent the “Natural Benefit Progression” from single extracts to multi-blends. Naturally, they utilize the same proprietary botanical extraction technology to produce either our suggested-use blends or your own custom blend to meet the most demanding formulation requirements. Blends of double, triple, or even a dozen or more different Formulex™ botanical extracts can be customized... making projects a bit easier for both marketing and formulators alike. Blends can be of benefit by virtue that they are often more cost effective, require fewer MOQ issues and are certainly less labor intensive.
We can provide suggested-use blends which are helpful at addressing specific formulation needs. For instance, much of the literature is now touting the importance of blending various botanicals for their combined synergistic effects. A typical Formuplex™ blend for a dry skin lotion formulation might include Burdock, Echinacea, Calendula, Aloe Vera and Yellow Root extracts. For promoting skin circulation benefits, a Formuplex™ blend of Cayenne, Ginger, Ginkgo Biloba and Gotu Kola extracts might be the answer. You can pick from our list of suggested-use Formuplex™ extract blends or get really creative and pick any combination of Formulex™ extracts that help address marketing requirements as well as solve fomulator’s challenges.
