About Us

Vitro Minerals, headquartered in Conyers, Georgia, has developed innovative glass products for use as crystalline silica free blasting media, functional fillers for the coatings, plastics, and sealants industries, and mineral admixtures for concrete. All Vitro Minerals products add a green component to any manufactured product, as we have both post industrial and post consumer glass feedstocks. Our post industrial products for concrete are sourced from low alkali reinforcement fiberglass. Our post consumer products are sourced mostly from curbside pickup bottle glass. Other products are sourced from high purity plate glass or windshields. Each glass chemistry imparts unique performance characteristics. The glass products are manufactured in Jackson, TN. The Vitro Minerals leadership team has extensive experience in the blast media, paint & coatings, and polymer industries. As part of our service, Vitro Minerals provides its customers with extensive technical support to achieve specific properties and characteristics.

The glass chemistry results in relative chemical inertness, making LA Glass resistant to blooming, blistering, or chemical degradation in harsh environments. LA Glass powders enhance a wide range of paints, coatings, plastics, and adhesives. High consistent brightness, tint retention and stain/scrub resistance can be achieved in most paint and coating systems. LA Glass powders have low oil absorption and can be easily dispersed in water- or solvent-based systems. Vitro Minerals Pyrogenic Silica RS-50 is a100% recycled synthetic, hydrophilic, fully X-ray amorphous silica, produced via flame hydrolysis. It is a white, submicron-sized powder of high purity and a surface area of 20-50 m/g. The primary particles, sized between 60 and 300 nm (0.06-0.3 um), are spherical and form loosely agglomerated micro-clusters up to about 3 um.
