Cleanup

Clean water for uncured paint. If paint has dried, paint stripper will be needed to remove it.

Surface Preparation

Wood, Steel, or Composite: Prime with Weatherskin products or by request WS Primer according to product instruction. Sand primed surfaces with 150 to 220-grit wet-or-dry sandpaper, and wipe with water or denatured alcohol. Do not use tack rags which can leave a waxy residue. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, grease or other contaminants prior to application. WSM9 CC High Traffic may be applied directly over Weatherskin laminating or coating resins. Sand surfaces with 80, then 120, then 150 to 220-grit wet-or-dry sandpaper, and wipe with water or denatured alcohol. Allow resin to cure at least 7 days at 70°F or above. Sand surface to a uniform dull finish with 120 then 150 or 220-grit wet-or-dry sandpaper.

Notes

The Application Guide contains more detailed instructions. Dilute crosslinker with thinning water prior to addition to paint base. Not meant for use below the waterline on constantly-immersed boats. WSM9 will dry without the crosslinker added, cut will not have desirable chemical resistance and weatherability without it.
