Wise Solutions Bio-Bilge Wash

Wise Solutions Bio-Bilge Wash is a highly concentrated biobased product which using the power of Colloidal Chemistry to tackle the most challenging marine situations. When it is added to bilge water it emulsifies and encapsulates the floating oil or fuel. Adding it to bilge/ballast water constantly cleans all contact surfaces and breaks down scum lines and other residues for safe, non-polluting disposal. Prevents slippery decks from fuel and oil residues and can be safely sprayed directly onto the surface of the water, dispersing oil and fuel and eliminating visible sheen as well as fire danger. This product is equally effective with fresh, salt and brackish water.

Bilges and Ballast Tanks When Bio-Bilge Wash is added to bilge water it rapidly eliminates vapors and odors associated with diesel fuel and gasoline. In the event of a spill, it will emulsify and encapsulate the fuel, eliminating the vapor release of fuel floating on bilge water thus decreasing or eliminating the danger of fuel explosions and fire. Additionally, use of this product in bilge/ballast water constantly cleans all surfaces contacted and breaks down scum lines and other residues. OPA 90 Deck Side Emulsifier Bio-Bilge Wash is compliant with OPA 90 as a deck side emulsifier, quickly eliminating oily residue and slickness commonly associated with oil and fuel deck side spills. Fire Fighting & Spill Cleanup Bio-Bilge Wash quickly emulsifies and encapsulates fuel spills, suppressing VOC's and rendering flammable fuels non-flammable almost instantly, preventing ignition or re-ignition of fuels and oils during spill cleanup. This product is not foam, and can be applied like water. This product is also very effective in knocking down airborne vapor in confined spaces. Use on Class A & Class B fires, no special nozzle required, use standard or automatic adjustable nozzle. General Cleaning General cleaning is simplified by eliminating hazardous solvents, caustic and corrosive chemicals. Bio-Bilge Wash quickly cleans turbocharger intake filters and other hardworking machinery. In the Galley, general use on all surfaces will help keep drain lines clear and eliminate the foul odors associated with grease traps and gray water holding tanks.

    Suggested Dilutions

If you did not purchase the ready-to-use strength of this product, dilute as follows: Bilges (Small Craft): Use 1 quart concentrate to approximately 5 gallons of bilge water (1 to 20), or 2 oz. per 25 feet of water line. Pour solution into bilge and allow to dwell for about 1 hour while boat is running. The natural rolling action of the boat will help self-clean the bilge. Drain bilge using proper procedures, then rinse thoroughly. Oil/Fuel Spill: Dilute 15 to 1. Generously spray solution directly on spills to prevent ignition or re-ignition of fuels and oils. OPA Deck Side Emulsifier: Dilute 15 to 1. Generously spray solution directly on deck spills to eliminate oily residues and slickness. Fire Fighting: Dilute 15 to 1. Generously spray directly on fire to knockdown, emulsify and encapsulate the hydrocarbon creating a non-flammable solution. Shake well before using.

    Technical Details & Test Data

    Technology Highlights

This product is readily biodegradable, non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-hazardous, non-caustic, non-flammable, and hypoallergenic; it passes and exceeds the acute toxicity (LC-50) criteria adopted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the US EPA. It does not contain ozone depleting substances, synthetics, terpenes, petroleum distillates, glycol ethers, caustics, builders & reagents, or California Proposition 65 Chemicals. Micelles are sub-microscopic, electrically charged particles that, when activated in water, repel each other in a ceaseless random movement. Micelles in liquid solution measure sub micron in size, 50 to one hundred times smaller than the particles created from typical cleaners and detergents. This small size and their extreme surface-area-to-volume ratio enable the micelles to penetrate complex carbon molecules, and emulsify organic matter.
