- Benefits
Diosmetin is the active metabolite of diosmin, and they share similar molecular structures. Diosmin is rapidly hydrolyzed to diosmetin in the intestine with the help of intestinal microflora enzymes. In this sense, the major benefits of diosmin is also diosmetin’s heathy benefits, such as treat chronic venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids, lymphedema, and varicose veins, etc., and diosmetin is for more efficient and better than diosmin and micronized diosmin.
Healthy Veins and Legs
As a more efficient diosmin form, diosmetin is a bioflavonoid that is able to reduce the visible signs of varicose and spider veins, as well as alleviate occasional swelling in the legs and ankles known as “heavy legs”.
Diosmetin also enhances the overall health and tone of small veins & capillaries, especially in the legs.
Anti-caner
Diosmetin functions as a human CYP1A enzyme activity inhibitor. Diosmetin inhibits carcinogen activation by inhibiting the CYP1A1 enzyme. Diosmetin has anti-mutagenic and anti-allergic characteristics in vitro, and inhibits tumor growth and protect tumor-induced apoptosis in vivo.
Diosmetin may be also beneficial to treat various inflammations and viral infections. In addition, luteolin and diosmin/diosmetin as novel STAT3 inhibitors for treating autism.

- Capsella bursa-pastoris (Shepherd’s Purse plant),
- Citrus limon (lemon),
- Mentha spicata (spearmint plant),
- Origanum vulgare (oregano),
- Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary plant),
- Salvia officinalis (sage),

- Tanacetum vulgare (tansy plant),
- Thymus vulgaris (thyme plant).
Diosmetin is found naturally in citrus fruits and juices, such as orange juice, grapes and grapefruit. According to Wikipedia, diosmetin can be also found in caucasian vetch, legume Acacia farnesiana Wild and Olea europaea L. leaves.
- Dosage
No recommended daily dosage for diosmetin at present. No supplements or medicines containing diosmetin are available. Diosmetin is used for reference standards, pharmacological research, food research, cosmetic research, synthetic precursor compounds, intermediates and fine chemicals; it is not popular as an ingredient in food supplements and beverages. However, many of our clients in the United States and the Europe are buying disometin powder from us for their novel supplements already.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Manufacturing Process
If you search diosmetin powder on the internet, all the information of diosmetin is from China, and all the botanical sources are from Lemon peel extract (Citrus limon). Anyway, this is not the truth.
Production process of standardized diosmetin extracted from lemon Citrus Iimon (L) Burm peel has many limitations:
- The yiled from lemon peel extract is very small while its cost is very high, and it is not possible to manuacture 10 tons or more at a time.
- The price for bulk diosmetin 98% powder from lemon peel is over USD 500/kg. It’s too expensive compared with other similar ingredients.
Wuxi Cima Science Co., Ltd develops a new method for commercially extracting diosmetin from Citrus aurantium L, of cource, not from lemon peels, resulting in bulk quantities (10 tons per month) and much lower prices. If you are interested in knowing the manufacturing process and bulk pricing, please write to us by email from the contact page or just click the send inquiry button.
