Applications & Uses
- Industrial Additives End Use
- Dechroming Additives for Cement
- The essence of the method of reducing water-soluble chromium Cr(VI) in cement consists in the addition of an active mixture based on natural zeolite and technical iron sulfate hydrates (up to 50%) in an amount of up to 1 wt.% - depending on the content of Cr(VI) in the cement.
- KlinoMix - dechroming additives for cement contain, in addition to the reducing component - technical hydrates of ferrous sulfate - surface-active natural raw material - zeolite.
- With a suitable combination of these two components, it is possible to reduce the content of water-soluble chromium Cr(VI) in cement more effectively than with ferrous sulfate alone.
- Another great advantage is the easy handling of this mixture, easy dosing and the possibility of long-term storage without reducing the reducing effect in cement.
- It is known that the addition of zeolite to cement has a positive effect on the useful properties of cement due to its pozzolanic properties.
Technical Details & Test Data
- Comparison of the Properties of Klinomix and Ferrous Sulfate – Dechroming Additives for Cement
KlinoMix:
- Maximum humidity (up to 6%).
- Guaranteed delicacy - according to the customer's needs, guaranteed in PNR.
- Problem-free dosing guaranteed by the good bulking properties of the KlinoMix cement additive.
- Trouble-free handling with the help of air technology.
- Trouble-free storage in silos without losing optimal bulk properties.
- The possibility of long-term storage without the risk of reducing the reducing effect of the dechroming additive for cement.
- The fineness of the material is comparable to the fineness of cement, the material is also suitable as an addition directly to the final cement.
Ferrous Sulfate - FeSO4 x H20:
- High humidity (up to 30%).
- Unstable granulometry, presence of lumps.
- Dosing is difficult, the material sticks together, clogs traffic routes.
- Difficult transport in tank trucks, problems when filling and emptying tank trucks.
- Difficulties during storage in silos - the material sticks together, it remains stuck to the walls of the silo.
- During long-term storage, there is a high risk of reducing the reduction effect due to the action of air humidity.
- As an additive to ready-made cement, it can be used with great risk, the need for homogenization already in the mill, otherwise there is a risk of "rusty" stains on the concrete.
