L-Arabinose has the appearance of white crystalline powder which has no odor and possesses sweet taste. It is 50% as sweet as sucrose, easily dissolved in water and glycerinum, hardly dissolved in Ethanol, ether and acetone. Its crystal can be formed in methanol and ethanol. It can cause mutarotation phenomenon.
