- Key Benefits
- User safe
- Low odor
- Consists of a working temperature range of -65°F to 180°F (-54 to 82°C)
- Reaches temperatures up to 280°F (138°C) (gearbox applications)
- Withstands brief exposure to temperatures as high as 500°F (260°C) with little impact on corrosion protective properties
- Free from heavy metals
- Wide temperature range
- Works on any metal surface
- Maintains a flexible protective coating that will withstand high ultra violet exposure in highly corrosive environments
- Contains no chromates, asbestos, MoS2, or graphite
- Approved as a replacement for chromate containing non-curing pastes
- Yields a smooth, non-drying, even film that yields excellent corrosion resistance
- Non-toxic
- Coats intricate parts
- Exhibits an extremely smooth and uniform paste like consistency without any lumps or grit.
Applications & Uses
- Application Area
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Applications
- Apply by spatula or brush at reasonable ambient temperatures.
- Speed application of Cor-Ban® 27L to parts by preheating it to 100 - 120°F (38-49°C).
- Apply at room temperature or at elevated temperature depending on the desired type of coverage.
- Available in a Semco® cartridge that fits into a standard pneumatic or ratchet sealant gun that is common in the industry.
- For in-service applications, please contact the appropriate manufacturer's service engineering for details.
- Liquid application of Cor-Ban® 27L is available as Cor-Ban® 22.
- Removal of the coating is achieved by wiping off all excess material and flushing part or wiping part with a rag soaked with Zip-Chem® Sur-Prep® 3160, the D-5640NS Degreaser, Sur-Prep® 3167, or mineral spirits. MEK and other ketones will not remove Cor-Ban® 27L from the substrate.
