Features & Benefits

Features

MOS as a nutritional supplement offers a natural approach to support the microflora and thus improve overall health, well-being and longevity. Of great interest is still demonstrating that they have a high capacity of capturing a wide range of mycotoxins, which are able to act. The cell wall of the yeast S. cerevisiae represents about 30% of the total weight of the cell and appears to be a double-layer structure part of which consists of β-1,3-glucans and β1,6-glucans. Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) constitute about 50% of the total carbohydrates of these walls. The shape of the base of the wall structure is made by numerous side chains that determine a form sprawling to the structure, which also has numerous negative charges on its outer surface. Based on the chemical composition and physical nature of the cell wall of S. cerevisiae, it is therefore reasonable to think that this area present many sites capable of a physical adsorption of molecules with which it can come into contact.

The study testing MOS in poultry showed an improvement in feed conversion, indicating that birds are converting feed more efficiently into body tissue. An efficient feed conversion ratio (FCR) is important for the overall efficiency and thus is a key contributing factor to sustainable poultry production. In addition, it is of great economic importance to the producer. Several studies also suggest that MOS, when added to poultry diets, allows the birds to perform at a similar level as when fed a diet supplemented with antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs).It may also have benefits for broilers during sub-optimal environmental conditions. β-Glucans (beta-glucans) are polysaccharides of D-glucose monomers linked by β-glycosidic bonds. βglucans are a diverse group of molecules that can vary with respect to molecular mass, solubility, viscosity, and three-dimensional configuration. They occur most commonly as cellulose in plants, the bran of cereal grains, the cell wall of baker's yeast, certain fungi, mushrooms and bacteria. Beta glucans are useful in animal nutrition as texturing agents and as soluble fiber supplements. Yeast and medicinal mushroom derived β-glucans are notable for their ability to modulate the immune system. β-Glucans are known as "biological response modifiers" because of their ability to activate the immune system.

Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate is an efficacious source of Zinc in meeting animal requirements. Zinc is one of the essential trace elements for man and animals and performs numerous vital functions in the body. Due to the wide spectrum of functions Zn deficiency can give rise to a variety of different symptoms. These range from growth depression, disturbed on delayed sexual and reproductive development, parakeratotic skin lesions, weakening of the immune system and delayed wound healing through to hair loss and growth stop with serious impairment of general health. Severe Zn deficiency states are rare in practical animal nutrition. Of greater importance are probably the marginal undersupply situations which can also be induced by a variety of factors (certain dietary constituents, drugs, diseases of the liver, the kidneys or the intestine, infections, pregnancy, etc.).

Zinc sulfate is also a source of sulfur. Sulfur is one of seven generally recognized macro minerals needed in the diets of dairy cattle and other animals. Sulfur is a mineral that is found in the amino acids methionine, cysteine (cystine), homocysteine and in taurine. It is also in the B-vitamins, thiamin and biotin. It is an important component of healthy cartilage. As a part of the specified amino acids, it is key to the structure of proteins. Heating protein supplements can rearrange the structures of proteins, due to the sulfur containing amino acids, which can determine whether these nutrients are soluble and rumen degradable or if they will resist rumen degradation in cattle. Heating also affects the essential amino acid, lysine, when carbohydrates are present in a supplement. An example of this change by heating can be observed when an egg is boiled. Animals have a need for essential sulfur-containing nutrients, such as methionine and cysteine. Sulfate forms of macro and trace minerals are among the most digestible and easily absorbed forms in the digestive tract. Elemental sulfur in water and feed is not a readily available source for animals. Inorganic sulfate could substitute for part of the cysteine under certain dietary condition with consistent increases in weight gains of chicks with added sulfate.

HSCAS (aqueous sodium calcium aluminosilicate) are used as mineral feed supplement to bind mycotoxins, to boost the immune system, to normalize metabolism, to prevent gastro -intestinal diseases. Mycotoxins are small and quite stable molecules which are extremely difficult to remove or eradicate, and which are considered to be a great threat both for human and animal health in global terms. Especially in farm animals, mycotoxins can cause decreased performance, reducing in feed consumption, weakening of immunity system, reproductive disorders, diminished body weight gain and residues on food products of animal origin. The mycotoxins of major concern as feed contaminants that are potentially removable from feed, are mainly aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol, T-2 and fumonisins. One of the methods for reducing the exposure to mycotoxins is to reduce their absorption and bioavailability by using various mycotoxin binders. The most widely known of these are aluminosilicates like clay, bentonite, montmorillonite, zeolite, HSCAS and active carbons. Another method is the degradation of mycotoxins into non-toxic metabolites by using indigestible complex carbohydrates (bacterium and yeast cell walls), enzyme, vitamin and amino-acid and.

HSCAS indirectly improves fertility and increases survival of healthy offspring, provides a natural wool luster, healthy growth, strength, renovation of the protective abilities of the organism. The usage of natural natrolite-phonolite in animal and poultry nutrition contributes slowing the rate of passage of food mass through the digestive tract, and thereby increases the impact of digestive juices on them. The usage of natural zeolite increases the ability of animals to use the nutrients of the diet. One of the positive effects of zeolite is the increase of the vitality of animals and birds. Experimentally proved that the feeding with natural zeolite helps to reduce the number of gastrointestinal diseases, which may be stipulated by a reduction of bacterial infections in the intestine. Also, the natural zeolite feeding, apparently, promotes the excretion of metabolic products and toxic substances introduced to food.

The use of zeolite as a supplement in animal feeding can improve the nutritional properties of food; positively affect the digestive processes in animals organisms, to improve the efficiency of nutrients absorption; improve the physiological condition of animals; increase the viability of animals, to prevent certain diseases; increase the productivity of animals; adsorb and rid the body of animals radionuclides, ammonia oxide and carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and heavy metals. The practice has shown that regular use of zeolite increases the following indicators: in case of giving feed to cows increases: average daily milk yield to 5-8%; the safety of newborn calves to 10%; increase in live weight of offspring to 6-18%. In case of giving zeolite feed to the sheep increases: wool clip to 13%; the wool strength to 6-12%; multiple pregnancy of ewes to 11%; live weight of offspring to 3-14% In case of giving feed to all kinds of agricultural birds increases: body weight to 5-10%; safety of livestock to 2%; hens egg-laying to 3-5%; decreases the eggs breakage to 3-5%; as a deodorant of livestock premises: adding 250 g of zeolite per 1 kg of litter destroys the odor for 100%; the litter humidity of 25% is achieved in 2 days term. Physiological experiments showed notable positive effect of zeolite on the digestibility of dry and organic substances of feed, nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus absorption. Was revealed higher bone density of tested animals in comparison with control. The experiments revealed that a week after the zeolite feeding digestive processes are stabilized, increasing the total acidity.
