A plastomer is a polymer material which combines qualities of elastomers and plastics, such as rubber-like properties with the processing ability of plastic. As such, the word plastomer is a portmanteau of the words plastic and elastomer. Significant plastomers are ethylene-alpha olefin copolymers.

IMSIL® microcrystalline silica fillers are produced from an inert, naturally occurring alpha quartz with a unique grape-like morphology. Finer micronized grades are useful in formulating higher gloss paints and systems requiring controlled particle top size such as Industrial OEM topcoat coats and non-conductive inks. Intermediate size grades offer ideal and uniform gloss control for topcoats, coil coats and increased inter-coat adhesion between primers and topcoats. Coarser grades offer high solids loading with low viscosity,  texture, anti-skid  and abrasion resistance in industrial floor coatings and exterior deck coatings.

The Simalfa line of water based adhesives is designed for bonding foams, fabrics, and virtually any porous substrates. The goals of Simalfa are to offer solutions that are friendly to our environment and to the people who use them, while providing the necessary performance characteristics that positively impact quality and profitability for our customers. To reach these goals, it is our belief that products must be developed to meet the particular applications of each industry. Aquabond’s water soluble thermoplastic is designed for temporary mounting of hard materials for slicing, dicing, grinding, lapping and polishing, and works well as a chemical etch barrier. Aquabond® comes in 3 different bonding temperatures that can be purchased in puck form. The nomenclature depicts each product’s melting temperature centigrade.

Chemitac® adhesives are used for single-layer or double-layer bonding of compounds to substrates such as metals, plastics, glass, ceramics and textile fibers by the curing process or by vulcanization.

SPUR+* Prepolymers - Formulators for the construction, automotive, and other industries face the sizeable challenge of creating durable sealants and adhesives and an excellent building block technology to consider for use in such products are Momentive s SPUR prepolymers. This family of silane terminated polyurethanes is appealing because of the combination of a silane curing mechanism with a polyurethane backbone. The properties derived from these SPUR prepolymers give formulators broad latitude to assemble products to meet the varied and specific performance needs of the end user.

Irganox® performance additives are used as antioxidants for automotive & industrial coatings. Hindered phenolic (primary AO) deactivate free radicals formed during thermal oxidation. Many of our antioxidants are FDA regulated to formulate incidental food contact lubricants and greases for use in food-handling and manufacturing equipment.

HALOX® Corrosion Inhibitors are effective against flash rusting and in-can corrosion, though the benefits of using these products does not end there. Geotex® calcium carbonate is a line of coarse screened calcium carbonate products produced from high purity white marble mined in Marble Hill, Georgia. Aktifit is an activated Silfit Z 91 produced by modifying the surface with functional silanes. The by-products split off during the treatment reaction are largely removed during the production process which firmly attaches the silane to the filler surface. This helps minimize undesirable side effects, as they are potentially encountered with in-situ mixing (direct addition of silane to the compound).
