FR Eco-Additive™ is a combination of Avtec’s TSWB® fire retarding and smoke suppressing additive and a crystalline graphite. FR Eco-Additive™ may be combined with composite resins and film forming binders to manufacture paints and coatings. Upon exposure to fire or high radiant heat the TSWB ® mitigates flammability and smoke generation as the graphite expands to form a thick insulating surface covering. This felt-like surface provides fire and heat resistance for assemblies that must meet prescribed burn-through and hourly fire rating criteria, e.g., ASTM E119, UL1709.FR Eco-Additive™ is a non-toxic antimony and bromine-free powder that disperses easily in both solvent and aqueous based resins. FILAVA TM is the essential fiber reinforcement in very high performance composite materials as well as in the field of technical textiles. With high mechanical, chemical and thermal properties, FILAVA TM is a product with very high added value. Thanks to its elasticity and temperature resistance, FILAVA TM can advantageously replace S and R glass fibers, steel, aramid and carbon fibers. With this unparalleled quality, FILAVA TM has become essential in fields as varied as aeronautics, automotive, wind energy, shipbuilding, construction, armor, fire-resistant fabrics, etc.

Often, fillers have to meet very special requirements. In such cases not only good dispersion characteristics are of importance, but also mechanical and dynamic properties of the final products. Improved electrical insulation resistance, better aging and fluid resistance in many materials and improved anticorrosion properties have a crucial role to play in many areas. At Hoffmann Mineral, we developed Aktisil to meet such customer requirements. This special filler is made by treating the surface of Neuburg Siliceous Earth with chemical agents, mostly silanes. The reaction by-products (e.g. alcohol) formed during the manufacture of the different products of Aktisil are largely removed right away during the process. The coupling reaction fixes the silane to the surface of the filler. Any undesirable side-effects that can occur during mixing by direct addition of the silane are virtually eliminated. So the customer can choose from a complete product range of many different types of Aktisil. This is the result of many years of in-house experience and of close cooperation with customers. G-TEX TM is our range of comingled recycled carbon fiber/ thermoplastic nonwoven mats. These mats provide an excellent balance of mechanical properties, formability and good-quality surface finish. G-TEX TM nonwoven mats are made with PP, PA, PEI and PPS fibers. The dry mats can be direct formed into parts by compression molding or used as pre-consolidated sheets. G-TEX TM nonwoven mats are used today in automotive and aerospace applications.

Various innoprene products supplied by Kumho Polychem Co.,Ltd. are thermoplastic elastomers of polyolefin type, and they can replace the existing thermosetting products of EP(D)M or CR rubber. The material is also able to replace soft PVC that is recently being discussed for its environmental problems. Moreover, the material is of low weight, therefore it is possible to develop light-weighted products. Innoprene is a product that is already completely cross-linked and there is no need for an extra cross-link process before its ultimate use. Also, it is possible to simplify the processes and reduce the prime cost as it is an environment-friendly material allowing for an easy recycle of scraps resulted from processing. Innoprene is possible to mold using devices of extrusion molding, injection molding, blow molding and calendar processing as in normal plastic resin. Especially, it is among the new materials that are possible to apply in extrusion area. (automobile glass run channel and construction window gasket etc)

G-TEX M is our range of 100% recycled carbon fiber nonwoven mats. These mats provide an excellent balance of mechanical properties, formability and high-quality surface finish. G-TEX M nonwoven mats can be used with all commonly used resin systems for composites. Whilst best suited for compression molding processes in either dry or pre-impregnated forms, they are also used today in vacuum infusion (dry mats) and autoclave (pre-impregnated mats) processes. G-TEX M nonwoven mats are used today in automotive, wind energy, marine and tooling applications.
