IrisECO is our series of water-based high concentrated pigment dispersions for in-plant tinting. Developed for architectural paints, is used also in industrial paints, wood coatings and various other applications.

Staple fiber, high tex yarns have a higher surface area that is ideal as a filtration medium for gas, dust and aerosols. Vetrotex manufactures a wide range of staple fibers ranging from 7 µm to 25 µm, perfect for use as filtration medium for mist elimination process. Vetrotex’s 11 um twisted staple fibers made of C offers a greater surface area for liquid filtration. Ideally designed for filtration medium in string wound cartridge filters used in aggressive chemical environment and high temperature applications. Fibers are bonded together with minimum amount of lubrication to provide good handling properties and higher tensile strength. Our staple fibers are non-hazardous and nonflammable.

Fibertec micas are platy minerals. Mica is generically a complex group of aluminosilicates occurring naturally as plates or sheet-like forms. Fibertec micas can be surface treated to enhance performance in various resin systems. Fibertec mica is used as functional fillers providing reinforcement in thermoplastic and thermoset resins to improve flexural modulus, tensile strength, impact strength while minimizing shrinking and warping at elevated temperatures.

Our glass fiber reinforcements are 10 or 16 microns in diameter and milled to lengths ranging from 120 to 470 microns. They are used in composites to increase mechanical properties such as tensile, flexural and impact strength. They are also used to increase dimensional stability and minimize distortion at elevated temperatures. Milled glass fibers are compatible with all thermoset and thermoplastics resins. Surface treatments are available that may enhance performance. Microglass milled fibers are E-glass filaments hammer milled to various bulk densities. Microglass is used as a filler/reinforcement in composites to increase mechanical properties (tensile, flexural and impact), improve dimensional stability and minimize distortion at elevated temperatures.

IrisColor is our series of universal pigment dispersions specific for architectural paints and enamels for interiors and exteriors, formulated to be used for in-plant tinting.

Titanium dioxide pigment is a fine white powder. When used in paints, plastics or paper, it provides maximum whiteness and opacity. It gives paint high hiding power, meaning the ability to mask or hide a substrate. It does this more effectively than any other white pigment. Today, titanium dioxide pigment is the most important material used by the paints and plastics industry for whiteness and opacity. These unique properties are derived from the refractive index of titanium dioxide. The refractive index expresses the ability to bend and scatter light. Titanium dioxide has the highest refractive index of any material known greater even than diamond. To take advantage of this property, titanium dioxide must be mined, refined and ground to a fine, uniform particle size. Nature does not yield titanium dioxide in a form that is usable by our customers.

SafSil® products are high performance functional fillers that contain less than 0.1 % respirable crystalline silica and are commonly used in both water and solvent-based paints and coatings. SafSil® may be used successfully to replace many common fillers such as ground silica, nepheline syenite, calcium carbonate, and talc.

All grades of Thermax® are manufactured under strictly controlled conditions from high quality, commercial grade natural gas. As a result, manufacturers using Thermax® are assured of the overall consistency of the product.
