EBECRYL® 350

EBECRYL® 350 is a silicone diacrylate that improves slip, substrate wetting, and coating flow and leveling when used as an additive in formulations cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB). Cured films containing EBECRYL® 350 will exhibit a smooth, tack free surface, with good blocking resistance. Because of its acrylate functionality, the silicone cures into the polymeric backbone, thus eliminating the migration that free silicones often display in coatings. EBECRYL® 350 is recommended for use in: overprint varnishes, clear coatings on paper, plastics and metal, and release coatings.

EBECRYL® LED 02

EBECRYL® LED 02, a mercapto modified polyester acrylate resin, can be added as a co-resin to UV curable formulations. EBECRYL® LED 02 transforms formulations into UV LED, UVA, or low energy curable systems by providing better surface cure. In addition, this co-resin can also be used to obtain better surface cure in high energy cure formulations. EBECRYL® LED 02 provides better surface cure by mitigating oxygen inhibition of the free radical process.

CoatOSil™ 3501 coatings additive is the Momentive Performance Materials most powerful friction reducing agent, providing the maximum in coefficient of friction (COF) reduction for radiation-cured formulations in its portfolio of coatings additives. And this additive isn’t one-dimensional; it also functions as an extremely effective defoamer, especially in aqueous systems. And it enhances slip and mar resistance in waterborne, water-reducible and conventional and high-solids solvent systems.

EBECRYL® 7100

EBECRYL® 7100 is an acrylate functional oligomeric amine resin generally used as an additive or diluent for more viscous oligomers. When used in formulations with a photoabstraction type photoinitiator (e.g. Benzophenone), EBECRYL 7100 has an accelerating effect on the UV cure speed. EBECRYL 7100 also promotes adhesion to plastic substrates such as polyester, ABS, polycarbonate and polypropylene oxide. It is recommended for use in: adhesives and coatings for plastics, clear coatings for paper, screen ink vehicles, metal decorating inks and coatings, wood fillers and coatings, lowering viscosities of other resin systems, and accelerating UV cure response.

EBECRYL® 8465

Ebecryl® 8465 is a clear liquid undiluted aliphatic urethane triacrylate oligomer. Films of Ebecryl® 8465 cured by UV or EB exhibit excellent exterior durability, toughness and good flexibility, as well as the non-yellowing properties typical of an aliphatic urethane. It is recommended for use in coatings for wood and plastics requiring excellent exterior durability.

EBECRYL® 8210

EBECRYL® 8210 is an aliphatic urethane acrylate that exhibits low viscosity and high reactivity in ultraviolet (UV) light or electron beam (EB) curable coatings. Cured films of EBECRYL® 8210 demonstrate high hardness with good scratch, abrasion and chemical resistance. EBECRYL® 8210 is recommended for: coatings requiring high scratch/abrasion resistance and improved adhesion, a modifying oligomer to increase cure speed, solvent resistance and abrasion resistance, and dual cure coating systems.

EBECRYL® 1200

EBECRYL 1200 is an acrylate functional acrylic resin supplied in 45% by weight of butyl acetate. Upon evaporation of the solvent, films of EBECRYL 1200 are physically dry and tack-free and after UV/EB curing are hard and chemical resistant without embrittlement. The viscosity and cured properties can be adjusted with the addition of reactive diluents such as 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA), isobornyl acrylate (IBOA), trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA), and tripropylene glycol diacrylate (TPGDA). A suitable photoinitiator must be added for polymerization with UV energy.

EBECRYL® 160

EBECRYL® 160 is a reactive diluent commonly used in ultraviolet light (UV) and electron beam (EB) energy curable coatings and inks. It can be used to impart crosslinking to energy curable coatings and inks while maintaining a degree of flexibility and toughness. Of the common triacrylate diluents used in energy curable formulations, EBECRYL® 160 exhibits the highest reactivity and the greatest viscosity reduction of oligomers. EBECRYL® 160 is a reactive diluent compatible with a wide range of acrylated resins used in UV/EB curing applications. Hardness, abrasion resistance, and high gloss properties make EBECRYL®160 popular for overprint varnishes, inks, coatings and electronic applications such as photoresists.

UCECOAT® 7674

UUCECOAT 7674 is an acrylated polyurethane dispersion in water designed for waterborne UV/EB curable coatings. UCECOAT 7674 is anionic in nature, making it compatible with water without any external emulsifier. Due to the presence of these ionic groups, it is not stable under acidic conditions. UCECOAT 7674 contains no co-solvent. UCECOAT 7674 exhibits outstanding wetting of wood surfaces, imparting warmth and richness to the appearance of the wood. UCECOAT 7674 provides hardness in the polymerized coating along with good stain and chemical resistance.

EBECRYL® P115

EBECRYL® P115 is a copolymerizable amine used as a hydrogen donor, or photoactivator, in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. When used in formulations in combination with a photosensitizer (e.g. ADDITOL® BP), EBECRYL® P115 provides rapid UV cure response in air by mitigating the effects of oxygen inhibition at the coating or ink surface. It has recommended levels are from 5 to 15% based on the total formulation, usually combined with 3-5% photosensitizer.

EBECRYL® 8413

EBECRYL® 8413 is designed as the pigment grind oligomer, for UV thermoformable ink applications, and should be used in conjunction with the letdown oligomer, EBECRYL® 1300. When used together with EBECRYL® 1300, non-blocking thermoformable inks can be developed. These thermoformable inks demonstrate scratch and temperature resistance, as well as excellent adhesion to a variety of plastic substrates without the necessity of corona discharge or flame pretreatment.

EBECRYL® 3605 is a partially acrylated ester of a bisphenol A type epoxy resin. It contains both acrylate and epoxy functionalities. This resin may be cured by exposure to either ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) in conjunction with conventional epoxy curing. It may also be cured with UV radiation using a mixed photoinitiator system consisting of free radical and cationic photoinitiators. EBECRYL 3605 has been developed for applications requiring improved coating performance properties over those obtainable with conventional UV/EB curing alone.

EBECRYL® 870

EBECRYL® 870 is a fatty acid modified polyester hexaacrylate. Because of the special structure of the backbone and the high acrylic functionality, EBECRYL® 870 provides the proper hydrophilic-lipophilic balance necessary for lithography, and high reactivity when cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or an electron beam (EB). It is recommended for: fast curing lithographic inks and clear varnishes, and improving lithographic behavior as an additive.

Esacure ONE

Esacure ONE is a difunctional alpha-hydroxy ketone photoinitiator. It is a highly reactive difunctional photoinitiator particularly suitable for clear systems. Due to its molecular structure it is particularly suitable for all systems where low VOC, low migration and low extraction values are needed (food packaging).

IGM Resins

Omnirad 819

Omnirad 819 is a versatile photoinitiator for radical polymerization of unsaturated resins upon UV light exposure. It is especially suitable for white pigmented Formulations, the curing of glass-fiber-reinforced polyester/styrene systems and for clear coats for outdoor use in combinations with light stabilizers. Thick section curing is also possible with this photoinitiator.

IGM Resins

Esacure TZT

Esacure TZT is particularly indicated for the photo polymerisation of UV curable systems when high reactivity, low curing odor and low yellowing are required. The radical generation occurs via hydrogen abstraction by the action of a co-initiator such as tertiary amines.

Esacure A 198 is a polyfunctional high molecular weight amine. It is co-initiator that when combined with type II photoinitiators gives high speed cure in both clear and pigmented systems. EBECRYL® 8409 is a low viscosity aliphatic urethane diacrylate which exhibits good flexibility and toughness in UV or EB cured films. Very low viscosity coatings, or enhanced performance via increased oligomer content are possible with this oligomer.

EBECRYL® 1300 is designed as the letdown oligomer for UV thermoformable ink applications, and should be used in conjunction with the pigment grind oligomer, EBECRYL® 8413. EBECRYL® 113 is a low odor monofunctional acrylated aliphatic epoxy that can be used as a reactive diluent in ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) curing formulations. It is a good diluent for a variety of acrylated oligomers. In formulations, it can lower Tg, increase flexibility and improve adhesion to plastics.
