Naxonac® products include anionic surfactants, one of the main advantages of phosphate esters is their stability and solubility in alkali systems. They can be used as hydrotropes to couple nonionic surfactants systems which are not soluble and at the same time increase wetting and detergency properties. The presence of the phosphate group imparts some interactions with metallic surfaces, thereby exhibiting some anti-corrosion and metal-adhesion characteristics. They can be used as additives in oil and water-soluble lubricant systems to improve lubricity, anti-frictional properties of the formula. Phosphate esters also find use as emulsifiers in emulsion polymerization.

Laromer® is the trademark for radiation-curable binders and monomers. Laromer® types are unsaturated acrylic ester resins and functional acrylic ester monomers for radiation-curable coatings. Functional acrylic ester monomers are non-volatile reactive thinners that serve both to adjust the processing viscosity and, through incorporation into the cured films, to modify the properties of the final coating. Unsaturated acrylic ester resins, due to their different chemical structures, determine within broad limits the basic properties of coatings. Laromer® UV monomers and oligomers can be used for 100% UV composite systems. In addition Laromer® grades offer possibilities in styrene emission reduction. They also allow changing of the properties of traditional epoxy or unsaturated polyester systems, e.g. an increasing flexibility and/or cohesion of the final composite. Our Laromer® range contains urethane acrylates (aromatic), urethane acrylates (aliphatic, with monomer), reactive diluents, epoxy acrylates (aliphatic & aromatic), amine-modified polyether acrylates (alkoxylated), oligoether acrylates, polyether acrylates (monomer-free, amine-modified), polyester acrylates, Laromer® pigment grinding resin. The Laromer® product line offers high-performance binders, resulting in emission-free energy curing of offset, liquid and screen inks plus overprint varnishes.

Alkyds with an oil length of less than 45%. Industrial and wood group paints are widely used. Semi-drying fatty/fatty acid made with short oil alkyds are mostly air-drying and modified under the name of rapid alkyd is used mostly in industrial paints. Short oil alkyds produced from non-drying fatty/fatty acids are generally used in two-component metal and furniture coatings.

BTC’s range of Acronal® dispersions covers both selfcrosslinking and non selfcrosslinking dispersions. BTC’s range of Acronal® types give decorative foils, filters and wallpaper excellent mechanical properties. In air and oil filters for the automotive industry they improve durability and performance. In high-quality decorative paper foil, our binders ensure a high level of stability of the bonded fibers. To abrasives our binders ensure the abrasives flexibility and reduce abrasive particle wear. BTC’s Acronal® types for natural fibers are acrylic dispersions. BTC’s range of Acronal® types give nonwovens made of synthetic fibers their exceptional and different functional properties.

HITOX (high grade titanium dioxide) is a high quality, cost-effective, Beige Colored Titanium Dioxide Pigment produced for use in a broad range of non-white colors. In products which require opacity and color, HITOX can reduce the amount of expensive organic & inorganic pigments as well as white TiO2. HITOX is offered in a 3 different particle sizes from STD (standard) 1.5 microns for medium to low gloss requirements to ULX = 0.8 microns and SF= 0.45 microns for maximum gloss and opacity. HITOX is used in a broad range of Paint and Coatings and Plastics applications including Architectural, Coil Backers, Powder, Container, Wood, Traffic, Paper, Primers, Adhesive & Sealants, Roof Coatings and PVC. HITOX GRAY is well suited for use in Gray Primers, Powder Coating, Decorative and Industrial Paints. In addition to Cost Savings, HITOX GRAY can eliminate or reduce the use of black pigments which are typically difficult to incorporate due to floatation problems. Basonat® polyisocyanates are crosslinkers for two-component Polyurethane coatings for the automotive and industrial coatings industry. Basonat® harderners have an influence on the curing time of the systems.

Often, fillers have to meet very special requirements. In such cases not only good dispersion characteristics are of importance, but also mechanical and dynamic properties of the final products. Improved electrical insulation resistance, better aging and fluid resistance in many materials and improved anticorrosion properties have a crucial role to play in many areas. At Hoffmann Mineral, we developed Aktisil to meet such customer requirements. This special filler is made by treating the surface of Neuburg Siliceous Earth with chemical agents, mostly silanes. The reaction by-products (e.g. alcohol) formed during the manufacture of the different products of Aktisil are largely removed right away during the process. The coupling reaction fixes the silane to the surface of the filler. Any undesirable side-effects that can occur during mixing by direct addition of the silane are virtually eliminated. So the customer can choose from a complete product range of many different types of Aktisil. This is the result of many years of in-house experience and of close cooperation with customers. Cinquasia® pigments covering violets and bordeaux shade are used in many tinting systems to enable high chroma deep shades and clean pale shades, frequently used as blue shading components with reds. Their quinacridone chemistry builds on chemical stability coupled with high strength and durability which makes them ideally suited to both interior and exterior applications. These products are high-performance organic and inorganic pigments and dyes. They combine very good tinctorial properties with excellent fastness to light, chemicals and solvents. They full fill the requirements of most critical applications. BTC’s Cinquasia® pigments show outstanding weathering resistance and processing stability, both properties required for top quality colouration of plastics, fibers and speciality printing inks.

The Helio Beit® UN-Series is a range of readily to use pigment pastes for easy use in a large number of solvent-based one-and two-pack coating systems. The pastes are especially suitable for use in dispensing equipment, particularly in combination with base-paint systems.

Zebron coatings are formulations of 100% solids, non-solvent polyurethane with zero volatile organic compounds. These are formulations are based on a proprietary, resinous system chosen to achieve optimum physical characteristics and chemical resistance.
