With the addition of ammonia and alcohol, but without other binder additives, a complete water ink system for flexographic and/or gravure inks can be formulated with incredible ease. Water-based inks made from BSTW exhibit excellent film forming properties, color strength and high gloss. Lightfastness is superior to most solvent-based fluorescent flexographic and gravure inks. It exhibits excellent transparency making it the system of choice for printing on foil and film. This also makes it ideally suited for highlighter inks in felt tip markers. Rovene 6115 is a hard, non-film forming vehicle that is neutralized with sodium hydroxide for flexographic and gravure inks and overprint varnishes primarily for use on paper and paperboard substrates. Inks formulated with this emulsion exhibit excellent ink transfer as well as exceptional resolubility on press with low odor. Inks and overprint varnishes formulated with Rovene 6115 dry fast, clean up easily on press, and can be easily formulated with graphic arts industry standard products and additives.

Rovene® 6114 is a low glass transition temperature, acrylic polymer emulsion with improved oil & grease resistance. It is a very soft film forming vehicle that provides good gloss, excellent water and rub resistance, and non-skid properties for flexographic and gravure inks and overprint varnishes. Rovene 6114 can be used as the film forming component in overprint varnishes or as the sole vehicle for inks and overprint varnishes. Because of the low glass transition temperature, Rovene 6114 has good adhesion to treated flexible films. Inks and overprint varnishes can be formulated with graphic arts standard products and additives.

Rovene 6106 is a low viscosity but high solids letdown emulsion for paper and paper board substrates. The combination of the polymer design and high solids give inks formulated with Rovene 6106 very fast drying and excellent printability. The high solids, low viscosity, and fast drying characteristics are well suited for high speed gravure printing as well as flexographic printing.
