Boronia megastigma grows to less than a meter. It has small leaves and small cup-shaped flowers, which occur in spring. The plant is quite striking in that the flowers are bright yellow inside whilst the exterior is an interesting red-brown color. The flowers have a wonderful fragrance and are used in the production of essential oils. The plant is traditionally found in south west WA between Albany and Perth Plant flowers in spring and is harvested when 80% of buds are open. Flowers are combed off the plants by hand or machine. The oil has a delightful perfume – an intensely rich flowery aroma with a sweet fruity character that is uplifting and refreshing. It is a great addition to perfumes and aromatics due to its rich, intense aroma with long lasting properties A top note golden brown, thick oil, it is usually distilled by non chlorinated solvent extraction of the flowers and leaves.

This precious absolute is made by solvent extraction of the flowers of the Hyacinthus orientalis, a small, herbaceous perennial plant, that flowers in early spring. The bell shaped flowers can be pink, purple to white and the plant is primarily native to the Mediterranean region and tropical Africa. The absolute is extremely precious due to the limited cultivation window of the flowers, and the low yield per flower. Hyacinth Absolute is a valuable ingredient in the perfume industry, and as a fragrant component in products. This refreshing and invigorating absolute also has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties and is considered calming, balancing and comforting.

Peppermint water is known for its repairing properties for face and body. It allows to restructure and to remodel the skin. It also helps to regenerate tissues. Peppermint leaves composition brings to this water soothing properties, acting on irritated skins. This water modulates inflammation and limits visually its effect.

Grape water is used in cosmetic for its soothing properties, ideal for calming irritation. It is also recognized for its capacity to retain water in the skin, thereby delivering a moisturizing effect. Finally, grape water has the power to improve skin microcirculation, which effectively reduces redness.

Green tea water is known in cosmetic for its actions on aging signs formation. It helps to bring suppleness and toning to skin. Ideally in face care, the water is very appreciated to be added in anti-aging products.

O&3 presents Sage, Water (Hydrosol). This is a "Hydrosol", so the essential oil is dispersed into the water. This is NOT a Hydrolat (that is a by-product of the steam distillation process). We offer both versions, so please do ask if unsure. That said, this Hydrosol is a wonderful & cheap solution to fragrancing. Delicate & light, you obtain the aroma of the essential oil, however far more delicately than that of an essential oil. This is a perfect solution to fragrancing delicate formulations, such as baby care & anti-aging formulations.
