CEDEPHOS is the acid form of a complex mixture of mono- and di-phosphate esters based on an aliphatic hydrophobe. This anionic surfactant offers the combination of exceptional alkali solubility with excellent coupling ability for nonionics in liquid formulations. It is used in heavy-duty, alkaline industrial detergent systems, textile wet processing, pulp deresination, dedusting agents and corrosion inhibitors.

SILFAR® is the name of WACKER’s range of silicone-based products specifically intended for the pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as for use in fermentation and other biotech processes. SILFAR® products feature outstanding chemical resistance. They are not resorbed in the digestive tract, and are therefore not metabolized. They are colorless and odorless.

AntiPro EP-3M is a very low foaming surfactant system that is readily soluble in 50% Caustic Soda solutions without the need for prolonged mixing or heating. In addition, it is also stable in mineral acids including hydrochloric, phosphoric and nitric acids.

PULPSIL® products are silicone-based defoamers. PULPSIL® provides pulp and paper manufacturers with efficient pulp defoamers for optimizing their various process steps and product quality. PULPSIL® silicones not only control foam but also speed up dewatering and improve pulp washing. Supergell is a premium brand that specializes in modified wheat starch products. Hydropalat® from BTC types are used as wetting agents and surface modifiers. UTEC® is an Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) product line manufactured exclusively by Braskem. UTEC’s molecular weight is about 10 times greater than High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) resins and its density makes finished parts approximately eight times lighter than steel. This extremely high molecular weight provides UTEC with several outstanding properties, such as: high abrasion wear resistance, high impact resistance, and very low coefficient of friction that makes the material self-lubricating. UTEC can be used for a vast array of applications in the following industries: construction, agriculture, material handling, transportation, textile, pulp and paper, food and beverage, mining, marine, porous plastics, oil and gas, high performance fibers, battery separators and waste water treatment. UTEC is sold in powder form with products spanning a range of molecular weights and particle sizes. The molecular weight begins in the low range (3 million g/mol) and extends to a high range (7 to 10 million g/mol).

Bacote® 20 series Stabilized Ammonium Zirconium Carbonate is a highly effective crosslinker. It crosslinks with all commonly used binders to improve the surface structures strength by reducing the amount of weakly bonded particles available on the paper surface. This certain characteristic is of value to coated papers and offset printing. As well Bacote 20 crosslinks instantly to the binder, offering a rapid cure time in the drying section of the paper process, it is compatible with practically all coating and press formulations.

STEPANTEX® is a cationic surfactant providing excellent softening, cold water dispersability and good rewetting properties. It is used in household and industrial fabric softeners.

Saduren® is a melamine-formaldehyde resin having melamine resin and urea resin as crosslinking agents.

Foam can be a major issue in industry and products to overcome this are used across the wide spectrum of industries ranging from paper pulp processing, paints and water treatment to name a few. Surfactants that generate foam are added to a wide range of applications for various reasons but in some applications foam generation can cause issues. Also in some application such as sugar beet and pulp processing,  foam is generated during processing. The addition of an additive to supress generation of foam levels is therefore required and such foam control agents are known as either antifoams or defoamers. Defoamer are the same in many respects but the term antifoam suggests the prevention of generation of foam and a defoamer operates by causing the collapse of the foam that has already been generated.
