"While the Civil War was coming to an end, Piqua started mining limestone in 1865 to help supply limestone products for the Miami County, Ohio area. Not long after the plant started, Piqua Materials produced materials for the Miami Erie Canal, and was a major supplier to several buildings and churches in and around Piqua, Ohio. Most of this architecture can still be viewed today a testament to the type and quality of stone produced at Piqua Materials. The Jurgensen Companies acquired Piqua Materials in 1989. In order to provide their customers with the highest quality limestone and service possible, Piqua Materials has continued to grow its operations by adding the latest technology and equipment available. To provide the agriculture industry with a consistent and reliable high calcium soil amendment product, Piqua Materials built a new Aglime mill and indoor storage facility in 2010. This facility has helped fulfill demand as a primary supplier of Aglime available all year long. Furthermore, in 2015 Piqua Materials continued their investment with the construction of a new pulverizing mill. This highly automated facility supplies high quality calcium carbonate mineral fillers to industrial users thoughout the Midwest. Piqua Materials produces the highest quality products that meet and exceed Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) specifications. Currently, the Piqua plant produces materials extensively used in asphalt, ready mix, and road base, residential and commercial construction. The Piqua team is well trained, diversified and is firmly committed to excellent customer service and satisfaction."

The innovative process of Wurster particle coating was established and patented by Dr. Dale E. Wurster Ph.D. in the 1950’s and 1960's, in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). Harlan S. Hall began his work with WARF and the Wurster process in 1971 as the Coating Laboratory Manager. He purchased the Wurster technology and original prototype equipment in 1976, marking the founding of Coating Place, Inc. In the years following, Coating Place developed products for numerous markets, including the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries. In 1982, Coating Place introduced the first micro-coater for research purposes, which was capable of producing approximately a 20 gram batch of product. Coating Place began development work in 1987 for oil field service companies to create an encapsulated breaker product, capable of delayed release properties. This microencapsulation process allowed the breaker to reach ample depths, temperature and pressure before release and modification of the fracturing fluid. Continuing the advancement of Wurster fluid bed coating technology, a 7-nozzle production unit was built in 1989. By 1997, Coating Place developed the first 3-nozzle Wurster unit that allowed for linear scalability from research batches to production batches. This created the opportunity for Coating Place to begin commercial microencapsulation manufacturing for thin film-coating of industrial materials, drugs and food. For the next 20 years, Coating Place became the exclusive commercial manufacturing supplier of breaker products to one of the leading oil field service companies.

"AFT Fluorotec Ltd is a group of companies based in England around the outskirts of London in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford and Kent. When we began, our collective ambition was to be a flexible customer-driven company, capable of giving clients exactly what they needed and not be limited to supply from a rigid product portfolio offering inflexible lead times. More than a decade later we have grown from the '3 guys in a shed' and developed into a team of 100 dedicated individuals, each bringing their own strengths, skills and experience and each fully understanding the fundamental importance of that original ambition to the success not just our business, but our customers as well. Listening to our customers remains core to our approach whether that be identifying and rectifying a frustration or developing a new manufacturing process to support our customers' ambitions, our goal remains the same – To supply customers exactly what they require when they need it and back this up with commercial competitiveness and an ISO approved quality system. Whilst our company beginnings were focused around PTFE and fluoropolymer molded and machined parts, the demand for other plastics and PTFE and associated coatings from our customer base pushed our investment and development of these additional areas. We are strong believers in reinvestment, evident in our facilities and plant which are the newest and most advanced within the UK Fluoropolymer processing and plastic machining industries. We have no ideal size shape or quantity. Our resource is so broad and varied we can handle all shapes, sizes and quantities of product."
