Captex® 100 is a diester formed from a reaction of selected high-purity vegetable fatty acids and propylene glycol. It is Kosher certified. Captex® 100 is totally miscible in mineral oil and in 95% ethanol. It has a lower viscosity than mineral oil. Captex® 100 is an excellent skin emollient and produces a smooth, non-greasy, powdery after-feel with shine. Due to its excellent solvency, Captex® 100 works exceptionally well as a substitute for mineral oil in cosmetic makeup-remover formulas. Because of its unique properties, viscosity, and miscibility with other cosmetic components, Captex® 100 offers advantages in suncare and haircare products where spreadability and shine are desired. The non-oily character, excellent stability, bland taste, and neutral odor make this product an ideal choice as a solubilizer and carrier of vitamins, colors, and flavors for selected pharmaceutical and nutritional formulations, or processing aids such as pan and mold-release agents. It is manufactured in USA.
