Features & Benefits
- Product Features
- Bromgard is a unique range of multi-functional liquid cooling water inhibitors and special activators which can be matched to specific cooling system metallurgy and water supply characteristics. They incorporate corrosion and scale inhibitors, bio-dispersant to prevent fouling and a powerful bromine biocide to control microbial activity.
- Bromgard is the ideal treatment system to protect against Legionnaires’ Disease. A Bromgard treatment program comprises of an appropriately selected Inhibitor and Activator, and where needed, this may be augmented by an additional non-oxidizing biocide.

- Bromgard Applications
- The Bromgard Inhibitor is dosed to maintain a continuous residual in the recirculating water. This is most effectively done using a water meter controlled dosing pump drawing the chemical directly from the supply drum or from a bulk storage dosage tank.
- As well as this, the Bromgard Activator is dosed on demand to achieve the desired microbial control. Depending on the particular cooling system, this may be achieved either by intermittent time-controlled dosage or more often by Redox controlled dosage to maintain the desired continuous bromine residual (typically 1- 2mg/).
- Switching is easy as the Bromgard approach is fully compatible with most existing cooling water dosing equipment, simplifying program change.
- The Bromgard cooling water treatment program can be monitored by a standard bromine test kits so that the necessary adjustments can be made and compliance demonstrated.
- Dosage Rates Information
Pre-Treatment Dosage
- With passivating corrosion inhibitors, maximum protection is afforded if a boosted dose is initially applied and maintained for a short time.
- BROMGARD 110 should be dosed at 3 times the normally recommended level for a period of 5 days at the start of the treatment program.
- This enables a strong passive film to be built up quickly.
- Similarly, should the normal dosage be interrupted for any length of time, an elevated dosage for a short period of time (1-2 days) will re-establish protection.
Normal Dosage
- BROMGARD 110 should be dosed to maintain a continuous minimum reserve of 100ml/m³ in the recirculating system water. Continuous dosing through a water meter controlled system offers the most reliable form of automated dosing for optimal system protection.
- Your Accepta representative will work with you to ensure that the use of BROMGARD 110 is optimized as an integral part of your bespoke water treatment program for scale, corrosion, fouling and legionella control.
- To measure your reserve, we recommend testing for Phosphonate targeting 5-10ppm.
- Typically, 100ppm of BG-110 delivers 5ppm of Phosphonate and 6ppm of Molybdate as MoO4
