ADD-6540 is specially designed wetting and dispersing agent with triple tail technology for stabilization of all kind
pigments with especially pearlescent pigments in water based systems. Its main use is to overcome color
shifting in screen printing caused by fast evaporation and/or fast absorption of the water into the substrate. The
triple tail technology keeps the system in balance, fast movement of the pigments will be overcome and pigments
will stay in place.
Coatings:
ADD-6540 is a wetting and dispersing agent for organic & inorganic pigments and fillers in water-based systems.
Its main use is to improve compatibility of all kinds of tinting pastes commonly used in the coating industry. It
stabilizes organic and inorganic pigments and extenders in water systems. ADD-6540 prevents “de-wetting” or
“surfactant stripping”, flooding and floating when pigment mixtures are reduced. ADD-6540 also increases storage
stability of the system.
Using ADD-6540 can result in:
Optimum color acceptance of tinting pastes in the base paints, strong reduction of flooding & floating &
maximum color development of the tinting pastes.
ADD-6540 can be used in all type of water based inks as well as water based coatings. Due to its particularly good combination of price and performance ADD-6540 is a very attractive substitute for conventional wetting and dispersing agents. ADD-6540 can be incorporated in the ink/coating before the addition of pigments/pigment dispersions/extenders or used as post additive.
Addition: 0.5 - 2,0% based on inorganic pigments 2.5 - 5.0% based on organic pigments Post-addition in bases: 0.5 - 1.5% on total base weight

Storage & Handling
- STORAGE, SAFETY & HANDLING
ADD-6540 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The production date is indicated on the container. ADD-6540 should be handled in accordance with good industrial practice. Detailed information can be found in the Safety Data Sheet.
