Chitosan oligosaccharide is soluble in water and has low molecular weight, and this makes it suitable as an ingredient in food, health care products and medicine. Food grade chitosan oligosaccharide has other names such as chitosan oligomer, chitooligosaccharide, chitosanoligosaccharide, etc.

AK Biotech Food grade Chitin is white or off-white amorphous flake or powder. Chitin can’t be dissolved in water, dilute acid, dilute alkali, concentrated alkali and ordinary organic solution. Chitin is basic raw material to manufacture chitosan and glucosamine. Food grade chitin: from deep-sea and high quality crab shell, such as Alaska snow crab legs.

It is soluble in many kinds of organic acid and part inorganic acid, such as acetic acid, lactic acid, low concentration hydrochloride acid. But it can’t be dissolved in water or alkali solution. Food grade chitosan is made from deep-sea crab legs, such as Alaskan Snow Crab legs or other high quality crab legs.
