DuraTite® Plug is for rigid structures and may not seal cracks that experience variable loading or repeated movement.
- Product Application
Basic Requirements
- To avoid waste, only small quantities of DuraTite® Plug should be mixed.
- Mix 2.5 quarts DuraTite® Plug into 1 quart water, not the reverse (2.5 parts powder and 1 part water).
- Stir the mixture until it reaches the consistency of a putty-like paste.
- After mixing, apply DuraTite® Plug to the appropriate area immediately.
- DuraTite® Plug dries quickly, so only small quantities should be mixed at a time and should be applied immediately.
Application Method
- Form a wedge and force it into the leak with your hands (wear gloves) or tools.
- Hold the plug firmly until set, approximately 30 seconds.
- After the leak has stopped, prime the area with a coating of DuraTite® Plug and fill the remaining void with DuraTite Repair Mortar.
- Remove excess material and, after a light wetting, apply a final coat of DuraTite® Plug.
- After the leak has ceased, prime surface with DuraTite Foundation and fill remaining space with DuraTite Repair Mortar.
- Wet the surface, and apply another coat of DuraTite Foundation.
Performance Timeline
The product will harden within two minutes and be at final strength within twenty-eight days.
- Clean Up
- Wash skin and hands with soap and water.
- Cured material must be scraped away.
- Be sure the container and lid is closed and tightly sealer.
- Store in a cool, dry place.

DuraTite Plug is sold in 26lbs pails.
Storage & Handling
- Shelf Life & Storage
- Store as for cement, in dry, cool conditions.
- When properly stored in a dry cool place in unopened and undamaged original packaging, shelf life in 24 months.
- Handling
- DuraTite® Plug contains cement, which is alkaline.
- It will irritate eyes and skin and may cause skin sensitization.
- Wear appropriate eye, skin, and breathing protection when using this product.
- In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
- It is recommended to wear gloves because there is a strong exothermic reaction that may irritate the skin.
