EBECRYL® 838 is a polyester hexaacrylate known for its fast cure response and moderate viscosity. When cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB), films of EBECRYL® 838 display notable characteristics such as good abrasion and scratch resistance, solvent resistance, and hardness. This oligomer is used in radiation-curable coatings and finds applications in offset and lithographic printing, as well as other specialty coatings. Various application methods, including curtain coating, dip coating, gravure coating, roller coating, and slot-die coating, are suitable for utilizing EBECRYL® 838 in different coating processes.

Formulated UV/EB curable products containing EBECRYL® 838 may be applied viadirect or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, airknife, curtain, immersion, and spin coating methods, as well as offset and screenprinting.

EBECRYL® 838 is recommended for use in:
