SETALUX® 17-1465

1 of 152 products in this brand
SETALUX® 17-1465, a hydroxyl-functional acrylic polyol, combines with aliphatic polyisocyanates to create air- and force-drying polyurethane coatings. These coatings exhibit excellent gloss retention, lightfastness, and chalking resistance. The cured films are hard, tough, yet flexible, delivering a glossy, high-bodied finish with superior resistance to solvents and gasoline. Ideal for solvent-borne, 2K, 1K, and high-solids coatings on metal, it features a high gloss and improved chemical resistance and flexibility.

Chemical Family: Acrylic Polyols, Acrylics & Acrylates

End Uses: 1K (1 component) Coating, 2K (2 component) Coating, Solventborne Coating, Solventless & High Solids Coating

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces: Metal

Features: High Gloss, Improved Chemical Resistance, Improved Flexibility

Curing With Polyisocyanates

CURING WITH POLYISOCYANATES Based on 100% conversion of reactive groups the following equation can be used to calculate the quantity of polyisocyanate needed for crosslinking 100 parts (insert product name) (on solids):

Polyisocyanate (f.o.d.) = 42 x 100 x OH% (solid resin) /  17 x NCO% (f.o.d.)

42 = molecular weight of the NCO-group

17 = molecular weight of the OH-group

Anhydrous solvents as well as solvents free of hydroxyl functional groups should be used in the presence of polyisocyanates, as dilution solvents.
