It provides a protective film with excellent moisture sealing and enteric properties. With its superior taste and moisture protection it is recommended for the coating of natural extracts, fatty oils and substances with bad taste and odor. It is a combination of natural shellac with plasticizers, coloring additives and additional excipients. It is a homogeneous, dry-milled, powdered compound, developed for the coating of all kinds of solid dosage forms. Natural shellac is a film forming polymer, which gives enteric properties for nutritional products. It is easily soluble in water and a reproducible high quality film coating can be achieved. Clear, white and colored preparations can be tailor-made according to customer requirements. If you are looking for a vegan formula we can use alginate sodium as a polymer.

Biogrund's ready-to-use excipient premix BonuWax® for hot melt coating is a water and solvent free application and provides good moisture sealing, taste masking and stability for granules and particles. BonuWax®, consisting of carnauba and/or beeswax plus two additional lipids, has a suitable melting temperature and is easy to apply on particles and granules by a fluid bed coating process. BonuWax® can be sprayed with a 100% solid content which leads to a high productivity.

BIOGRUND’s one-step film coating system AquaPolish® PVA provides a protective and fast soluble film on tablets, pellets, granules and capsules. It is a unique, dry milled, homogeneous blend of selected filmforming polymers with coloring and a few plasticizing additives. AquaPolish® PVA is a combination of polyvinyl alcohol and optional HPC, which gives excellent moisture sealing by using aqueous solvent applications.
